I dunno about the high shot. Does he have carry over points? If the panel go with a careless, low grader then he'll take it and miss 1 or 2 weeks. Not good because, as Pogo said, other than a few lapses with ball security, he is one of our best this year.
Ryan blamed Gallen for the miss on Clinton, which was way off the mark IMO. Sully was more reponsible for that. Ryan also was harsh on his security at the play the ball. Ryan said that Gallen did several things today that SOO selectors and Stuart would notice and mark against him. He said that they don't want players with those faults like that at SOO level. Having watched the replay I thought Ryan's criticisms were way over the top and unjustified. Even the very best have off days with their ball security. The odds are that a player like Gallen with such a high involvment will make some mistakes.
He bagged Gallen out and then Ch9 gave him man of the match!? He had a bit of bad luck and dropped a couple of balls for the FIRST time this year! Where was he when the Dragons f**kwits were playing turnstile defense at the start of the year?
Good call WR (yes man on the outer)
The point of contact was Gallens shoulder... Mr Angry is right though his arm was high but didn't make contact slid up off the ball.
i missed the game. i'm as desperately in love with gallen as anybody else but i was under the impression that he does have a habit of poor ball security in play-the-ball situations and is normally good for giving away a penalty or two.
Gallen's full record. This is really complicated. The charges and points are correct but the loading may be incorrect. Anyway I get him as having only 15 carry over points now. I also think he's gooorrrrrrnnnneeee. Doesn't matter where he hit him first he ended up hitting his head. Also got the disadvantage of the Marathon Bashathon the day before which may influence the grade if the judiciary wanna get tough all of a sudden. I'm backing Grade II Careless. 125 points + carry overs.
2002 Grade 2 Striking - downgraded to Grade 1 striking - 125 points less discount 25% for EGP - 87.5 points - no suspension

2003 Grade 2 Intentional High Tackle - 650 points + 20% loading for prior non similar offence - 780 points less discount 25% for EGP - 585 points + 50 carry over - 635 points - 6 games - 35 carry over points
2004 Contrary Conduct Grade 1 Instigating and Continuing a fight - 200 points + 20% loading for prior non similar offence - 240 points less discount 25% for EGP - 180 points + 35 carry over - 215 points - suspended 2 matches - 15 carry over points
He trys to rise fast and play the ball, and this can leed to mistakes , the odd Penrith hand dosent help ( if u look at the replay in slow mo ) I think he just had a bad game in that respect , he was wrong footed for Clintons try as well but I donthink anyone could have stopped him scoring he was like a train. Its hard to critisize Gallen when u look at the work he dose !
