I think that David Gallop should be asked to stand down at the end of this season or be removed before next season begins.
It is moving into one of the most critical times for league in this country with possible expansion and the most important revenue stream being the tv rights now being negotiated.
Gallop is still paid a retainer by News Ltd,he is a News Ltd lawyer brought in during the Super League fiasco to recoup monies lost by News Ltd, his conflicts of interest are staggering and yet he remains in his post.
The game must expand in order to compete and best use its resorces around parts of the country, and it must demand a huge increase in tv revenues from all the competing media companies.
A far greater portion of the revenue from the next tv deal must be directed to the clubs who provide the product, the days of News Ltd siphoning off huge sums to recoup their losses must finish.
It is going to be down to clubs, their members and their supporters and those who can cast influence, being politicians and captains of industry to make sure Gallop and his ilk are moved on and an independent, thoroughly accountable board are put in place.
The days of deciding revenue for league behind closed doors must be publicly challenged, and in the courts if necesarry, failure to act does not bear thinking about!
