But a dollar is a dollar right, whether you are 19 or 28? Should young players delay big paydays because it's the 'right thing to do'? (my words, not yours).
I heard a lot of 'he's not worth that' when Brown signed with the Knights, but I don't know where this idea of who is worth what comes from. It's supply and demand, on a more nuanced scale. Halves are a scarce resource in the NRL. Ones who are already (arguably) NRL class at 19, who could play for the next 15+ years, are even more scarce. So clubs, especially the desperate ones, are going to table massive deals. Halves don't grow on trees. Galvin can go to one of those, or he can take what is probably a slight pay cut to go to a contender. His call, because he's got a massive level of talent.
Everyone is welcome to dislike Galvin for his part in this, and certainly Moses who is a snake. But honestly, the idea that he's doing something that the majority of us wouldn't do, or the majority of 19 year old wunderkind halves wouldn't, just doesn't sit right with me.
