Galvin v the Tigers

One, because his own son had similar potential problems as he was coming through to grade.

Secondly, because it is very rare for the coach of another team to make a comment about a roster drama at another club.
Three....because its very easy for Ivan to say Nathan should ask for less early in his career when its the same club paying daddy and the two negotiations are not seperate

This is the real issue.

Have a free agency period after the GF and these situations go away. There will be rumour and innuendo but nothing more.

That would not fix this situation, in fact it might encourage it.

Galvin is 18 months away from the end of his Contract, he is 6 months away from being able to negotiate with other clubs. The reason that this has happened the way it has happened and Moses has blown the whole thing up is that there is a club (Parra) that want him NOW ans Moses and Galvins crew (with Turuva's boneheaded assistance) are doing everything that can to create a situation where it is untenable for him to stay so they get what they want.

Any change with free agency, june 30 or finessing dates doesnt help or prevent this problem.

Its a calculated gamble. If he turns out to be the next Andrew Johns and the cap goes up significantly in 2028 $1.2mill until end of 2031 would be a steal. If he doesn't then its craps. Roll of the dice by the Tigers or whoever else is going to throw big money at him.
Id find it hard to believe that a Contract for $1.2M didnt have ratchet clause in it relative to the salary cap.

1.2 million pa for him is huge overs for a 19 year old whose really done nothing

Tigers should copy the roosters and ban Isaac Moses
Ummmm Roosters had a ban before they singed James Tedesco from the Tigers....who was his Manager?

Tigers have taken the right steps and they shouldn’t cave to pressure from the rlpa
Agree but would like to see some support from the NRL

yep for sure. Will be a test in the next round v the Sharks. Will they rest him for a game that they are less likely to win without him?
I dont think that is what he meant.....I think what he meant is that it is most likely that Parramatta are the low life scum bag club completely bereft of moral or principles that have made the offer to Moses that has prompted this whole debacle and that if the Tigers caved today, Galvin would at kellyville before sundown

This is another thing that’s really weird about it. There are a very few number of clubs who specify all his requirements.

The most obvious one is the Bulldogs, but Gus will lose all credibility if that ends up eventuating after his comments today about how the Tigers should release him.
Its Parra

it's probably his geniused dad in his ear, mixed with that shit sack player manager

they have way too much power, introduce a transfer window and stop destroying clubs seasons

also, you have luai there to learn from, and benji, how won a GF

spoiled 19 year old
A transfer window wouldnt fix this problem. He has 18months to go on his Contract and he wants out now.

I am sure half the tigers board on here have been saying Benji can't coach for 18 months.

Funny now it comes out from one of the players and its all of sudden wrong.
Ive been critical of Benji previously but at the end of the day, under Benji, are the Tigers getting better or worse?

Is the team growing and developing or declining. Its still early days in this season but that answer can still be answered and ultimately that is the answer on Benji at this stage.

"It's less about winning a comp and more about me getting to a new club and developing as a player," Utoikamanu said.

The mods at r/NRL banned me for posting this. Wimps.
Remind me of the clause in Galvins Contract that allows him to leave or negotiate with other clubs?

Wow.....sorry guys for the flood of posts, I only just started reading this thread.

Now Ive got to the end of it I reckon most in here have missed the point with this issue. All the discussion of whether or not laui etc are hypocrites or "why is this any different to Utoikomanu etc etc have definitely missed the point.

IMO......the issue isnt Galvin leaving or wanting to leave, lots of players from Tigers and all clubs have been in this boat and its part of the Rugba leeg soap opera. For me why this is a big deal and why it has blown up with the players etc, is that Galvin has 18months to go on his Contract, six months still to go before he can negotiate with other clubs. A club with no morals or principles (Parra) have made a big offer to Moses and Moses has gone into the Tigers and announced that Galvin will be leaving in the most explosive and disruptive way with the express purpose to make Galvins stay at the Tigers untenable and get him a release to achieve his purpose.

All those asking "why is this different to any other player wanting to leave".....For any other player wanting to leave, the club makes an offer and the manager say no thank you we want to go to the market in November, in November sign with another club and either wait a year or negotiate a release. In Galvins case Moses goes in there and says "dont give us your offer, it doesnt matter what you offer we are not staying and whilst Im at it, here is Lachlans 7point dossier on Why Benji is a shit coach...then Moses leaks this (not the 7points) through his stenographer Michael Chammas with the only possible and predictable result of blowing everything up to get the release now.

Isaac Moses, on behalf of Lachlan Galvin and his Dad, with the urging of a club (Parra) have intentionally blown up a Contract 18months out which is completely different to all the other examples and IMO is disgusting, disrespectful to the Tigers and totally the wrong thing to do to and for Galvin as well. it has put a 19yo under extreme pressure.
