Galvin v the Tigers

Guess Burton moves to centre and they punt Montoya ?

Bringing in a new half when they are coming first would have huge risks to team harmony and cohesion
And who plays 7 next to him? He's not a 7s behind, and they have Sexton who is serviceable, but Gus kinda made it clear last week he wasn't really invested in him for the future.

You'd have to think the playing group would be consulted (or at least Burton, Critta, Kikau etc) about signing this kid

If the salary cap is truly designed to keep the game fair then Galvin should be a Parramatta Eel next year, if the Dogs somehow got him then serious questions would need to be asked about their cap considering their team is currently running first and would be signing the best young half in the comp.

At the end of all this, Galvin wants to leave, and by leaving he has saved the club a huge problem, IMO, either Galvin or Latu would of had to go by the end of next season, for me, Latu is a better fit for Luai and he has the bonus of keeping his two brothers happy.
So I see it as a win.
Hopefully they can get a player swap or a transfer fee, but I don't see what else the club can do.

Yeah but the Dogs squad ain't stacked.

Most people were laughing at their recruitment prior to the 2024 season. Hutchinson, Mann, Salmon, Tracey etc. The thing everyone missed is that pretty much all of them had played finals football at their former clubs 2022-2023. Not elite players but guys who had experience on the bigger stage.

The current Bulldogs squad is 100% under the cap with room to move. They had money for Ben Hunt but didn't chase. It's great cap management.

Gus is a more throw shit at the wall and see what sticks type operator with the cap. He'll f**k over anyone to get a shiny new toy and doesn't care about the repercussions.

Penrith's dynasty is even more impressive when you know about how Gus ruined our cap

He is one of the best cap operators in the comp.

Read those names again. It was smart recruitment and most didn't see it. If you are running 1st and have room to move in the cap then it's the very definition of good cap management and a well coached side.

You don't win premierships with a 'ruined' cap. So there is something you aren't understanding here. If you want to see what a ruined cap looks like look at the Dogs under Hasler.

Go run your eyes over Flegg, SG Ball and NSW Cup results in the past couple of years. The Bulldogs are doing all the right things to be a force for 2025-2030.

Their weakness right now is a lack of threat in the spine. They've been patient and didn't bite on guys like Ben Hunt. I don't think they should on Galvin either but its one area where they need to recruit a big name.

And what happens to Xerri? Or are you moving Crighton?...
Wing

The move to parra is easier

D.brown goes to Newcastle and tigers were to get Kai Pearce Paul in return

Wherever Gvin goes tigers will have a say if it’s happening this year so eels or dogs have to offer players back and or transfer fee

I think Gus is playing with fire and it could affect their premiership chances. Burton might not like being shifted out of 6 and the other players seeing Galvin as a ring in

Imo Gus is being greedy they don’t need him

He said it through a megaphone weeks ago then signed Finau Latu from the Dragons. It's always a game with Gus. I'm not even sure his target is Galvin. For all we know it's Kalyn Ponga.

If they do recruit I think it needs to be a more experienced half or fullback. Galvin is raw.

Anasta isn't on Gus' level but wants to be. Not surprised he is calling for Galvin's head. It will somehow suit his own interests as a player manager.

Lol so if true about the Dogs, it's looking like Gus was the co-mastermind of this whole thing. That deserves an investigative podcast series if so.
A guy I know who’s involved with Balmain said the club believe he’s going to Canterbury. Gus has been pitching to him for a year via the media which really needs to be looked into.

It seems a weird match to me, not sure the dogs really need him, he’s kinda the opposite of what they’ve built the last 18 months off.

From a halves POV i would have thought Panthers or Eels would be perfect for him. Go with an experienced 7 and allow him to play on the left. Considering the Eels have made no attempts to sign a 6 for next year i have no doubts they’ve been lead to believe he’s going there. If he does end up at Canterbury hopefully they ban dealing with Issac.

If it’s dogs their long term plan would be 6. Galvin 7. Woods. It seems obvious Sexton won’t be there next year. Nto sure where this leaves Burton.

Anasta ain’t a fan of Wests, his views on this whole situation are based off his dislike for Isaac Moses.

I'd love it because Penrith need a left centre. And Burton fits the bill perfectly.

Don't think it will happen though. The guy they will move on is Kikau who just hit 30 years of age. Has an opportunity to take massive new franchise money or get a good deal elsewhere in Sydney.

Galvin doesn't fit the Dogs IMO. They want an experienced match winner. They've already got halves to develop. The Eels are a much better fit for Galvin and it can happen in 2025 instead of 2026 at the Dogs.

At centre, where he belongs
