Thanks 'Riff man.
When fans of other clubs, most media and podcasters, and the 3 stooges on NRL360 ( who despise our club ), are all on the same page in unity with us . . . . it builds confidence that we've done nothing wrong and something positive will come from all this.
I hope that its sorted soon, and we absolutely don't buckle in our demand of a top flight player of OUR choice in return for releasing LG.
This will come to a head sooner than later.

What about this bloke, as our back up 7?

I wish I could use the like button. I like every comment on this thread.
Mine tends to disappear every now and then?
Do you notice a big blank gap in the middle of the page?
Do you use an iPad? I think I have a virus on it, it's the constant history video, that affects the site, which affects all my computers when using the forum. I've stopped using he iPad and it hasn't happened for a while.

Does everyone feel like a weight has been lifted. Imagine if we actually paid that or worse topped it up.
Latu Fainu is now the man to work hard at his craft.
TBH, I would have been happy if he accepted it, yes it's paying for potential, but I think he has it.
But his carry on was dumbfounding, regarding his opinion of a coach, at his age.
But now, we are moving in a direction that is just as good and solves a potential problem, when the Fainu boys come up for renegotiation.
TBH, I only care about the blokes who want to roll with crocodiles.

Wouldn't it be great if the WT are the Fainu brothers home until they all retire.
They are good enough to do that. They could cement themselves as club legends. To be a club legend it takes time and the sad thing is these days it's getting harder and harder for players to hang around.
Galvin is another example of road blocks for one club players. The salary cap is not the main hurdle anymore.
However when players finally settle at one club, I'd like to see more hang around for the long haul.

Benji Marshall had to drop Galvin, he just had to.
The Tigers fans would have booed the house down with Galvin in it.
He'll have time to reflect on what he has done in reserve grade whilst the NRL squad is galvanized and moving fwd.

Galvin breaks silence on Tigers drama after axing
By Danny Weidler and Michael Chammas
April 15, 2025 — 5.21pm

Lachlan Galvin has broken his silence on his decision to knock back the Wests Tigers after a tumultuous 24 hours.

It comes on the day Galvin was dropped by coach Benji Marshall after the club’s senior players approached him about not wanting the 19-year-old in the team against Parramatta on Easter Monday.

“I totally understand my decision will frustrate many Wests Tigers fans, but please know that it wasn’t an easy call to make,” Galvin said in a statement sent to this masthead.

“It’s a decision that I have discussed at length with my parents, closest friends and family. I’m extremely grateful for their love and support in making this call.
The biggest reason why I made this call now is so that the Wests Tigers have enough time to plan their roster without me in the future. That’s the absolute truth of it.

“The club were eager to get a deal done, and so they called a meeting with my management last week. I could’ve mulled over this decision all season, but I didn’t think that was the right thing to do.
I thought it would be best for everyone to make the call now rather than drag it out.

“Any suggestion that I already have a deal done at another club for 2027 is simply not true.

“I’m extremely grateful to be able to go to work every day as an NRL footballer and the Wests Tigers have played a massive role in the opportunity I have to play this game.

“I just feel that as I move into an important period of my development as a half, that I continue to build my game at a different club. Again, I know this might be hard for some people to understand, but I make this decision in the best interests of my career.”

Galvin’s father James also addressed the situation.

“I can understand how Tigers fans feel, but as his father, I can also understand why Lachlan feels he needs a change,” he said.

“I want the best for my son and his development as an NRL player and for that I’m supportive of his decision as he’s the one who knows his game best.
As a family we’re comfortable that Lachie is backing himself as a young man. What I know is that Lachie will continue to do his best for the club for the remainder of his time there.”

More to come ...
