Game Impressions

What did you all think of the game tonight?

Personally, Im abit disappointed that we lost to such an under-strength Brisbane. I think Simpkins is a disgrace, that flop decision was the worst decision I have every seen and tarnished such a good try saving tackle. On the topic of the tackler, Simmons, I think hes coming good, Ive been skeptical in the past but recently he hasnt put a foot wrong. IMO we are making to many errors each game, previously it hasnt cost u and we've been lucky that they are only preventing us from beating sides by 40 points, but in this game it meant that we were our own worst enemy. Vagana looks ok defensively but in attack he looks to have nothing, that drop ball with seconds left highlgihted this fact. IMO Leulawai looked prity good.

N e way, enough of the rambling, a disappointing loss but we will be back bigger and better next week Im sure!!

Also of note is that all the stats in this game prity much favoured us except the tackle count, yet we lost....go figure!

Yes it was disappointing to see the Sharks lose after leading 12-0 at the start of the match. Far out those tries were unbeliveable.

But we'll bounce back next week! :D

That flop penalty was ridiculous - I agree!

Yea, I cant believe we put on two tries in like the first 20 and hten didnt score after that! The performance was ordinary. I dont know wh yas well they went for the penalty goal in the 2nd half, we were always going to need to score another try, 14 - 12 wasnt gonna rap the match up

i thought that decision was the right one. it didnt look like we were going to get over the line. and this way we can extend our lead, make the catch up harder for the broncos and give a little bit of hope for the sharks.

Yeah it was a correct decision to go for the penalty. The game could've gone our way at that point if we lead 14-6, unfortunatley it didn't go as planned. It's one of those things.

I thought the handling was bordering on the ridiculous. So many times on the first tackle too...we must have the most dropped ball stats in the league. If we held the ball we would've won the game.Defense seemed good enough generally, some soft tries were let in though. The flop after the Simmons decision was disgraceful.Watching the replay after the game at home, I was so impressed with how Noddy spoke to Dumb-f##k Simpkins.
He was pleading with him but in a really honest way.I was happy Leulai was given a go.
A game we should have won.God I wish they hadnt given away that NZ game to Perth.
The atmpsphere at SHarp Park is too good to be given away.

So even though he's still a speed bump
and missed the tackle for the 1st try.

he hasn't put a foot wrong.

I rate him 4/10 for this game.
He's had one half decent game for us
but heh you say
" he's coming good"

Yep simmons had a pretty good game , great try saving tackle Id give him a 7/10.

I think the bye killed us, we should have won that in the last ten minutes but we panicked and errors cost us the game.

Well I was more then a bit dissappointed. I felt shattered. It was agony watching that second half. I walked from the ground with a feeling of foreboding.

Set completions and knock ons are killing me with these guys.
Don't get me wrong, I'm loving this year compared to the last two but god help me, every time we drop the ball, it seems something critical happens to us next.

HANG ONTO THE PILL SHARKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #-o #-o #-o #-o

I must disagree with this part. Vagana playing outside Bailey is a real worry. Bailey is not a known passer of the ball, which is why he doesn't seem to get much. Vagana MUST have the ball passed to him at speed in the centres. He is practically unstoppable one on one at speed. That is where we will get the best results.
With playing Dykes at lock in the scrums, it was my thought that if Dykes gets the ball, he would pass the ball more to Vagana running at speed for better results than Kimmorley who does pass to his right better.
As for the rest of the game, the Simplekins error was pretty ordinary, but didn't matter too much in the end as the goal was missed for a 20mtr dropout which had the play back in Brissy's half. What cost us was the no try decision, which was correct in my view. We lost that game by 1 centimetre.. DAMN....
Oh and by the way, whoever played the Last Post did a good job too ;-) ;-) . Pity about the noise coming from Alco Alley during the minutes silence... :x :x :x :x

I agree with that, Ive noticed that Bailey is abit of a hog. But I still think Vagana has lost it, I base that decision on his games for us and especially his game for NZ. Like last night, he gets the ball, he runs back infield every time, whats doing, or he tries to grubber it to himself!?

The game changed when Vagana's "try" was disallowed. We had the momentum until then.

The Broncos then took control and we never got any kind of momentum back.

( I was wondering who that bugle blowing man with the huge lungs was! Enormous effort!)
