Pfft I don't look at things that way, I hated Dallas cowboys but loved Michael Irvin and emmit smith

I just admire some players regardless which team they are from

And besides, your a philli fan, a team with as much history as....Atlanta? ;)

Brady has now won more play off games than the Philly franchise has in its entire "history".

With all the hysteria over what happened in OT and how the Packers capitulated... People have somewhat glossed over the pair of grape fruits that Pete Carroll showed... That fake FG was ballsy as hell...
Agreed kept them in it.

One of the greatest comebacks in playoff history.

The Packers had this, well at least they thought they had it and closed up shop. They cannot blame anyone but themselves for this.

For me....

he already rates as the greatest I've seen... Especially considering he was drafted in the 6th round... 199th overall...

Remarkable what he's done from there...

Yeah i get that he's the best many have seen, but this is a GOAT discussion.
I dont think where you are draft counts in GOAT discussions. The records speak for themselves
Montana is the GOAT. 4 rings, 3 Super Bowl MVPs, and never lost a SB.

It's like in the NBA, you can be as good as you want to be, but Jordan is 6 finals, for 6 chips, for 6 MVPS and never let any of them even get to a game 7. That's just the way it is.

Right now, Montana is #1 and Brady is in the discussion for #2. Brady wins on Feb 2nd, and MAYBE he can at least force his way into the Montana discussion

And FWIW, a lot of really reputable NFL people say Roger Staubach might be better than both... Brady is one of the all time greats. He has a chance to elevate himself to another level in 2 weeks time. But 3/6 wont get him in the GOAT discussion IMO

Ohhhh yeah I get what your saying... That's GOAT talk...

But I don't care about the GOAT talk TBH... I simply don't know enough about the history of the game to have a serious opinion.

Which is why I go on the best I've seen... Which is Brady...

Just an aside... About 7 years ago I was lucky enough to speak to ex 49ers linebacker Riki Ellison who won 3 rings with Montana.

Someone from our group asked him who the best QB he ever faced was... He said Jim Kelly from the Bills was. Then unprompted he said the Kelly was every bit as good as Joe Montana and that if he was in a better situation he would have won just as many as they did...

That always sticks with me... As you never really hear Jim Kelly's name in that conversation because h never won any rings...

I would simply say.....The D is what wins that.

Aaron on O for Seattle, wins that by 30.

Russell, did clutch.

I am on the Pats.

I missed the games today through work. Royally pissed.

I had to check scores, iQ'd the games but had to check scores as it was going to be days til I could watch it anyway.

I'd backed GB 8 weeks ago for a nominal stake just for an interest and I could have snapped a pencil when I refreshed my phone screen in OT!!! Not for the wager, I just like GB.

I'm planning on watching that replay. Is it worth watching those NE snatch bags pump the colts?

Nice. Funny, I have heard many former players sat that andre reed was the better then jerry rice in the day, one was Michael Irvin.

Jim was a great qb, people don't realise this but the bills partied way too much before the sbs and apparently affected them gsme day.

Also, buffalo were very poor against the run, Jeff wright out nose tackle in a 3-4 wasn't even 290 pounds, we were always gushed up the middle in every sb

I don't get how rings enter GOAT discussions in a team sport.

Is Joe Flacco better than Dan Marino?
Does Brad Johnson outdo Jim Kelly?
does....you know what I'm getting it.

How many rings you have isn't the be all and end all, it's not the only criteria. Which is why no one in their right mind would say Johnson/Flacco etc are better QB's than Kelly etc. Its why even if he wins a 2nd ring in his first 3 years, no one is going to have Wilson over Luck let alone Rodgers etc.
It's not a line up your rings and that'll tell us who the best is.

but they do matter, its one of the criteria when you're talking about the greatest player of all time, winning the ultimate prize has to come into consideration, a long with many, many other factors, including the supporting cast.

And actually i think this year, was the biggest knock for Mannings claim on that basis, his team was stacked, it was built to win a SB. The defense was good, the pass catchers were outstanding, he had a line that functioned well, and a good runnning game.

One thing that people use against Brady is the whole Spygate revelations.

"He's never won a SuperBowl since the Pats got caught cheating." Rightly or wrongly.
If they win, no one will be able to hold that against him.

Very good point. Whether you agree or disagree with the Spygate thing, the fact is he hasnt won one since. That gets taken off the table if Brady gets his 4th ring
