Strong rumours that Manly have signed Leeds Rhino's, Ex-Wakefield, second rower Gareth Ellis.

If this is true you have a really top class player coming.
You might remember him from his monster hit on Kidwell during the TNs last year.

He is one of the most professional men you will ever meet and has a superb and painfull defensive game.

His creative ability has been stiffled at Leeds but he often played at Stand Off for Wakefield.

I doubt it. We have Menzies, Watmough and Glenn Stewart in the second row already and probably don't have much room under the cap for anyone else.

from his own website

A Rugby League weekly newspaper ran a story this morning claiming sources have informed them of Gareth's impending departure for Australia, having signed a lucrative $450,000 (£200,000) two season contract with Manly Sea Eagles.
While it is flattering for Gareth to be associated with an NRL team and his style of play may be suited to the Australian competition, Gareth currently has no plans to head down under.
He is firmly concentrating on representing the Rhino's at this Saturday's engage Super League Grand Final and also Great Britain in the forthcoming Gillete Fusion Test series against New Zealand.
The Gareth Ellis official website, along with the Leeds Rhinos, are happy to assure fans that this report is based on rumour and hear say with no real substance.
Ellis' agent, David Howes, confirmed that Gareth had a further twelve months to run on his contract and preliminary talks with the Rhino's on extending that deal could happen as soon as the autumn internationals have concluded.

for mine he's the best 2nd rower in the world......

Riiight.

We'll see if he can get the better of David Fa'alogo this tour before we start putting him ahead of the likes of Dunny Bill and Nathan Hindmarsh. ;-) Hell, even E-tag.

I would cry if you guys managed to land Ellis. Alongside Peacock, he's the only Pom forward I rate as a guy who could make a real impact over here. He'd be running on in short order.
