ditching the Gold Coast again would be a mistake and a huge leg up for the Suns, with some success the club will improve fairly quickly, and like it or not theres half a million people on the GC, and 1.2 million if you throw in the Northern Rivers and North Coast. Moving the club a hour north to Brisbane like some have claimed would be ridiculously pointless and a waste of potential for both the gold coast and a second Brisbane team. If people from Brisbane wanted to follow the titans they would already, rebranding them Brisbane wouldn't make a difference
It was brought up on 100% last night but something the Titans should be doing is expanding their reach, they have a huge and fast growing catchment in NRL heartland from south of Brisbane all the way down the north coast of NSW to not only draw fans from but also develop juniors. They also need to get a good development coach in and try and develop their own star, theres plenty of talent to go round in their catchment. They aren't going to draw a big name player to the club as like Slater said last night, big name players rarely go on the market anymore.
Re the stadium, it's too late now but they really missed an opportunity to have a stunning stadium in an amazing location. When people think of the GC they think beaches and picture the skyline of Surfers hugging the beach, so why wouldn't they build a stadium on the beach? placing Robina stadium on the beach in the heart of the gold coast would have done a lot to help get casuals and walk-ups to games
