just like to let all you gateshead thunder fans some big news, australian prop josh hussey is on his way to help you guys regain esl status. He is a mark riddell look alike and loves to insult stars of our game such as nathan hindmarsh and benny elias so look out for their tough customer!

Does he play in your team now PJ? Post up a photo...

At Gateshead he'll get to play with one of Chris Thorman's younger brothers. And Newcastle's a pretty cool city to hang out in.

No way Bartman... Josh is going to play starting prop or 2nd row for the Thunder. Watch out for Huss-dawg... a superstar in the making!

Best Young player ive seen in ages. Hes a superstar in the playing side and the ego side, tho where a lot of egos arent backed up, Hussey backs up his large ego and then some. He backs up strength with speed and even playmaking skills, making him a candidate at lock or even a big 5/8.

Just a question.

I was reading the Hull website the other day and their history section which stated they had actually merged with the Gateshead Thunder outfit.

Even if they exist still in the lower divisions, how can they be promoted to the ESL if they are a part of Hull FC?

After the merger, which was more of a takeover, a group of fans unhappy with what happend st about forming a new club which was accepted into NL2 playing under the name of Gateshead Thunder which had dissapeared under the merger.

Also kind of like the Huddersfield-Sheffield merger, with Sheffield starting over at a later date in lower divisions? Expect more of the same in 2009 I'd say...
