On WT website today - new NYC coach appointed, Gentle to be fulltime assistant to Sheens.

Does this mean Royce has moved on, or is he still about?

Jones takes over from Peter Gentle, who did an excellent job as coach in the first year of the inaugural competition. Gentle will now work full-time as an assistant coach to Tim Sheens in the NRL.

Keyword = 'an'.

Sounds to me like 'an' means one of several, two or more.

If it said '
work full-time as the assistant'...then we might get excited.

Yeah, also they'd probably have Cousins do a nice feel-good piece on Roycie if he was leaving...

if Roycie was leaving there'd be several memorial dinners, you all know where.

Peter Gentles, another turd nobody has ever heard of.

They should of all been shown the door last season.

Sheens and Simmons would struggle to get a gig elsewhere in top flight rugby league, such are there putrid records over the past 10-12 years. Gentle maybe at the Belrose Bullants.

Bellamy had huge raps on him before he went to the storm, remember the baby bronks that put the cleaners through our mob. In fact our mobs first choice was Bellamy before we went for Teflon Tim. Anyway to think Gentles could be another Bellamy on what he has shown to date is crazy. Its another example of our mob taking the budget choice instead of spending the coin and going for class and thats why they keep comming up empty

From what I saw of Gentle in 2003 I think he has the goods for a young coach. We weren't the only ones to think so. If you cast your mind back, he was assistant at the Sharks, with a rumour suggesting he had a lot of control over a team/club which was in a bit of turmoil at the time.
