We need Latrell Mitchell to win this award next year. If he does crack it, we will have had a very good year overall. It's overdue.

Wow, the Red and Green ball kinda snuck up on me this year, it seemed pretty low key. Rightly so I guess after the year we've just had. But it still seemed like a good night from what I've seen.

Congrats to all the award winners!! Particularly Jack. Can't argue with him winning the George Piggins medal. He's been our best and most consistent in a pretty shitty year. Has already joined a prestigious group of Rabbitohs in his first year.

I'm also disappointed I didn't get an email about the members choice award though.

I’m finding I drop off their members lists all the time. Weird because there’s 5 memberships in our house too.

From Buzz Column tomorrow:

LATRELL’S NOTABLE NO-SHOW

Superstar Latrell Mitchell was a noticeable absentee from South Sydney’s George Piggins Medal gala dinner on Friday night.

Jack Wighton was named best and fairest player of the year but his close mate couldn’t turn up to the presentation at The Star casino.

Latrell was dealing with a personal family matter.

Knowing what the issue is, which the club has asked to keep private, his absence was totally understandable.

It was disappointing for Latrell because it was also the farewell dinner for Rabbitohs favourites, hooker Damien Cook and front-rower Tom Burgess.

Latrell last week caught up for a meeting with new coach Wayne Bennett, who is already in Sydney to begin work at the Rabbitohs.

He played only 11 games this year but is determined to reinvent himself under the old super coach next year.

How about a welcome home celebration for Burt?
This would be a packed event.
The dopes running the club should set it up. Burt will make the club a powerhouse again.

Knowing "Burt", he wouldn't want any fuss or attention made about him. Glad to hear he has had a chat with Latrell already.
