2013 will actually be a good season with the missing fullback that we missed so desperately throughout this season, this will mean that we will be consistent ! Beale is if not better than Darius and thats a fact he too is a fullback that plays as a five eight !

Im keenly looking forward to 2013, I think Beale should be our fullback, he might show us his best in that position.

noo way he will and should be fullback too much switching and swapping our team this year is what has made us not in the top 8 just look at how good this guy is he the best at fullback, besides he only agreed to come if he was to be fullback, imagine morris n nightingale back on the wings were they belong look at morris soon as he goes back to the wing he is a gun the same will go to jason ! we really really missed a fullback this yr and i cannot wait till 2013 cos ths guys is such a gun and a playmaker we can make 2013 look like 2010 ;) its just the coach im worried about ...

I agree that Beale could potentially be better than Darius...

Boyd is not really a natural ball player, its just that when you compare him to Morris and Nightingale he looks like a world beater. He is quite effective in his own way but I would not call him a "natural" if you know what I mean. He can look quite awkward and gets his timing wrong on occasions.

Beale on the other hand looks like a natural ball player. He has a lovely sleight of hand in much the same way as Karmichael Hunt.

The issue will be positional play if anything. Boyd is superior to most fullbacks in terms of positional play.

I might add however that neither are as great as the mighty SNAKE!!!
Now that is a fullback

100% agree we can expect to see a great playmaker ! i just hope he adds to left and right sides of the field so that all teams wont kno where its coming from !

If I had a choice between having Darius back or putting Beale at fullback, I would have Darius back in the blink of and eye. It's a no brainer really.

If Beale is such a natural fullback ..... Why is he playing on the wing?

The Broncos also had the option of placing Beale at fullback after dropping Hoffman but instead moved Corey Norman to fullback, probably not the best vote of confidence.

It's unfair to start comparing Beale and Boyd. Darius has been one of the top tier players in the competition for the best part of 3 years, Beale can't even crack his favoured position in his team but we're already setting expectations on him to become better than Boyd.

I think they wanted Ben Hunt in the team but also at the same time keep Corey Norman in the team as well therefore the shuffle Hoffman to wing, Norman to fullback and Hunt to 5/8.

Comparing the two is very harsh indeed - I don't think Gerard could match the pure force and physicality of Boyd. Yes he looks pretty silky in that highlight reel but he has been pretty quiet this year.

I am glad we signed him - we need pace in the back line - but Cummins is undoubtedly our big hope for fullback...he will get his chance sometime next year.

We definately need to blood some more young players next season the likes of Cummins and Ranciman, expose them to the big league but also not rush them expecting instant success.

It wouldn't really make sense for Griffin to blood him at fullback when he is leaving at the end of the year, hence why Corey Norman was put back there when Hoffman's form tapered off.

At the back end of last year Beale was a revelation for the Broncos. However, Hoffman was not considered an option for the wing so he was put back to fullback upon returning from injury.

Exactly, but we should have started that process this year, we have had plenty of opportunity.
