Gerard Beale - Could be be the bolter for the 6?

Yeah, He played better games at centre than on the wing. Who knows what will happen. I'm sure Hoffman will attract plenty of attention next year when he is off contract.

Beale reminds me so much of Darius. Better fullback then wing but was stuck behind the incumbent Hunt. Then was lost to another club where the potential was truely realised.

Has anyone floated the idea of McCullough playing 7? Maybe not next year, but once Baptiste comes through, he might be a great option there.

Sorry, only read through the first page of this thread. Please ignore

Don't think it is an option after his performances over the last month. Developing nicely finally and read to hunt down Smith for an Origin jersey.

I think Beale's best position would be in the centres...maybe move Reed into the back row? Either that or when Hodges misses half of next season through hamstring injuries Beale and Reed could be the centres.

I think Beale would go alright in the centres as well. Reed could be that back/forward interchange player that I have a hankering for.......although we have that position covered with Gillett. Other forwards that IMO must squeeze onto the bench as well. Gillet, Teo, McGuire/Hannant (with Petro back) .......

Unfortunately or fortunately......I think unless we're covering injury, the only slot open for Beale is on the wing

Clubs that Beale would get a crack at fullback in 2012:

Titans
Dragons
Tigers
Eels (depending on what they want to do with Hayne)
Warriors (maybe)
Roosters (maybe)
Rabbitohs
Sharks
No to those clubs

Yeah, I was thinking he would. Henjack used him at 6 last year for a game or two. Who knows what kind of game he would play, as long as he doens't stop skip around a bit then try and pass it.

Here we go again. So many times in crunch games where a chief playmaker is missing, a coach will throw in a forward who has a bit of flair in at No. 6. It's primarily a defensive play, and for me, shows a lack of confidence in younger playmakers.

It rarely works.

That is true, but Gillett isn't just another forward. He has played alot of football at 6. There is no way i'd be putting Norman in there. Remember that game last year agaisnt the warriors when there was a bit of pressure, he missed every tackle pretty much. Manly would hammer him. Hunt would be the best option but then you have to muck around with glenn when macca gets tired.

Maybe move Wallace to 6 and Hunt to 7...?

You're not suggesting Corey Norman are you........I don't thinks that's wise for this game.

Not a fan of Gillett to 6.

I think Gillet to 6 wouldn't be silly. Cant risk a rookie at the moment -and Gillet is incredible in any position!
