July 23.....Heidelberg Sharks v StuSta München
July 30.....Munich 9s featuring teams from Germany, France, Holland and UK
We have only one field so hence not so many teams as we would like.
July 31.....Germany Development v Scottish Students

August 6..Rotterdam 9s with 2 German Teams
August 7..Holland Development v Germany Development

Rugby League Deutschland has now myself (Simon Cooper), Ron Hinrichs, Uwe Jansen and then Danny Stocks in the UK helping out with a lottery and looking to form an exiles side.We have updated the website www.rugby-league.de tho sadly in the last day or two the fixtures schedule have changed as Estonia cant make Rotterdam and so we have agreed to switch the Holland game to the Sunday.A teammate who is studying for exams updates it when he has time so will look to sort it ASAP!

We also sent our first Monthly Newsletter to well over 200 people including people wanting to get involved in RL in Germany, Union Clubs, Potential Sponsors, Government Officials etc.It is in German at mo tho we may look to do one in English depending.

A German national shirt is in the final stages of design and will feature the traditional RL Chevron:cool:.We are keeping the costs down to a minimum and hope to announce exact cost and design shortly. The shirt will be on a pre order basis and can be bought via www.forty-twenty.co.uk who are also likely soon to have Heidelberg Sharks and StuSta Munich shirts available

Having a few problems with some Union people mainly at one club and its got a bit ugly. However the players WANT to have the chance to learn League so am looking how much red tape is involved in setting up a seperate club! This being Germany setting up a club is not as straight forward as you may think. Some Union people have been extremely helpful and without there help wouldnt be where we are! Thanks Guys.

Anthony Seibold, Russ Bussian etc from Australia have offered there help and would love to play for Germany but sadly we dont have the money to help them come across or for their insurance which would likely be high.Jeff Reibel at the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys has also offered his help and with his contacts at the Cowboys has managed to persuade them to send some training manuals/dvds across to us as well as sending some Cowboys merchandise.Certainly Uwe Jansen is highly appreciative of what Jeff and the Cowboys has done as we all are.

We also get much help from Kevin Rudd and Haydn Walker at the RFL in the UK on training and help and advice etc which is always welcome.Tas Baitieri is in Europe this next week I believe and will look to talk to him via phone. The procedure for Grant money from the RLIF via RLEF has been finished by Kevin Rudd etc and thank him for the hard work he has put in.This means its easier for Nations to know what to do and how best to apply for money

Had an Email from Dave Van Reenen (South Africa RL) and we will look to keep each other informed of players from South Africa and Germany playing RL in either nation. Will also inform Yanto as well of any players of Dutch Heritage playing in Germany.

Will try and do a monthly update on here in future. If you want to support us in any way or know of anybody who wants to get involved with Germany or even Holland, Serbia, South Africa etc send me an Email ( simoncooper@t-online.de )and can pass on details

Fantastic news from Germany. Thanks for updating us Der Kaiser.

I'm pleased the Union guys are helping you out.

A shame about Estonia not being able to make Rotterdam, a few things in the rugby league world seem to be falling through as of late.

I think the best news is that the RLEF have finalised a grant program! Finally hard working rugby leaguers in emerging nations can get some financial support.

How much of a champion is Jeff Reibel from the North Queensland Cowboys?! Getting some training gear, dvds and Cowboys merchandise over to you us just top form from Jeff!

I think we are all looking forward to the German Rugby League jersey and I am very pleased to see the good old traditional rugby league chevron graceing the kit! It should make it distinctly rugby league and set it apart from many soccer jerseys.

I'm sure you will get a good few pre-orders from the guys and girls in the international forum as soon as things are ready. And the idea of being able to buy Heidelberg Sharks and StuSta Munich jerseys is tempting as well.

Will these be rugby league jerseys or the same as their union jerseys?

Could you tell us more about your lottery as well? I'm not too sure on what it is all about.

I'd love to see you do a monthly update for the German Rugby League. It certainly is, out of all the other emerging rugby league nations, my personal country of most interest.

I hope the RLEF can give you some support soon. I get a lot of satisfaction seeing your work pay off and I am sure it is infinitely more pleasurable for you to see it take shape before your eyes.

I wish you all the best Simon, you are doing us and the code proud and the amount of work you get done with minimal resources is amazing.

Great Stuff mate!

The results are not too important to be honest more to get the Germans playing in a team with a bit of experience. We have a couple of players from England with German Heritage (Danny Stocks-Hemel Stags NL3-Rep experience in England) and (James Herzberg-Hull Phoenix, Ex-England Lionhearts rep) flying over to help the players with little experience in training and in the games. Most of the players will be German or German parentage like myself.

i thought you were talking to yourself at one stage, but then i realised you forgot to add quotes to the first line.

Keep up the good work, where can you see german RL being in 10 years?

Hard to say as have been pleasently surprised by our progress in less than 10 months.August we celebrate 1 year in existence.I would honestly be happy with 2 Leagues-One based in Bavaria (Munich, Ingolstadt,Nuremburg) and another based around Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Stuttgart area.Maybe a third based around Cologne and the Army bases but problem with the Army nobody stays more than a couple of years it seems and go on tours oft.If each league had 4 team then the winners of each group play off.I hope we are in a position to not rely on Union for players but we wait and see.
