Bugger me he is awesome.

I know his replacements are only young blokes, but when he's on the field we play far better than we do when he's off.

He's finally developing into a mature front rower - just as he was always going to do. Such a shame we're getting rid of him when his runs are matching his defence.

We'd have the best pack in the world if we'd have kept him for next year.

I agree.

He is a quality player. I think Woods and Groat have greater potential but I really love the way Gibbs plays. He is constantly working in defence and although not a meter eater he carts it up.

Off topic but Groat impressed me today. He worked in defence all night and continually looked like he was moving up fast.

He is playing out of his skin this year and particularly since it was announced he's off to Cronulla.

But...Melbourne has shown you can dominate with nufty props if you've got class players in 1, 6, 7, 9 and tough second rowers. We'll be fine next year if we pick up a quality fullback.

Gibbs has been consistently getting better and better for a long time. Dunno what you've been watching.

Hes always been a strong defender, and a workhose but theres a reason the tigers looked to get rid of him among others and thats because for years the tigers forwards could never bend the opposition line and bryce gibbs was one of the prime offenders.

The last month or so he has ran the ball, stronger, harder and more effectively than in his whole career.

I dont know what game youve been watching if you think otherwise.

You're correct in saying he didn't bend it a few years ago, when he was the same boat as Woods and Groat who don't. But to say he only started doing it a month ago is pretty silly. Somewhere in the middle for me. All of this year at least.

Westie is Gibbs every going to pop the pass? He dummies every hit up! He was sensational. The same goes for your boyfriend Fulton. He had played the best four weeks in his career.

I have at times hated Fulton being in the team. He has at times seemed too small to belt it up and at times it was like that last night.

He is also a great footy player and because our pack now is a lot stronger - Woods & Galloway especially being great metre eaters he seems to be fitting in better.

I've repeatedly said I would have moved him on unless his role is changed. Numpty.

Just maybe :D his best mate Fulton has promised him that they'd go out as winners this year. They have both played so well over the last month. Fulton has thrown out the ball playing crap and just done what he does so well, the defensive stuff.

As for the young guys, I guess Groat is going to be there for the rest of the year now because from what I heard last night by a few Tiger fans, is the fact that Fifita won't be seen again this year :( apparenly an ego, attitude thing from the conversation I over heard.

Groat has been very solid for a young prop and deserves to keep a spot on the bench if he keeps on producing the form he has. He doesn't have the impact of Fifita at his best, but if the attitude and effort is there, great!

Also - well done Gibbs. he's come on in leaps and bounds over the last 3 years. We'll miss him.
If Groat comes up to that level in the next 12 months we'll be fortunate indeed.

Gibbs has been improving, dramatically, over the last 2 and a half years.

The decision to let him go was f**king stupid, as I've said before ad-nauseum.

I don't see how Blair offers any more at Prop than what Gibbs does, especially considering Gibbs isn't being paid half a million a year either.

And they are a similar age, I would have retained Gibbs and chased a big name halfback or fullback for next year with the cash.

It's well known that Props develop at a later age than all other players, and we finally have Gibbs in a great stage and he's getting better.

I wouldn't be surprised if he plays Origin while in Sharks colours.

He'd be my first NSW prop picked without a doubt. But hey, what would I know, I haven't conspired to lose 6 series in a row. It's up there with letting Boof, Manu, O'Donnell and Galea leave. Imagine if we'd run that pack out the last few years.

Fifita's attitude and ego have been well documented from the start, no news there.

I just hope Groat doesn't cop the same rubbish Gibbs did during his development stage. Remembering Gibbs looked a lot better as a youngster (in FG) than Groat has. He's a footy player, he'll learn the ropes.

Fulton is weird, he seems to score trys from strange situations on a regular basis. He's just got that footy mind that 99% of the NRL don't. Shame he's so small. I'd prefer him defending in the middle, if we're going to play him. He's got a great motor and the speed to tidy up when the big boys are on the back foot. I know it's silly, but we could do worse than putting him in the 7 out wide, dropping Lui and just having a defensive brick wall.

I think we're in the same choir....

Gibbs has been VERY GOOD for at least 18 months, but since he signed with the Sharks his attack has been unbelievable. He has never hit the line as hard as he has in the past six weeks, nor made such an impact with ball in hand.

Definitely a massive loss, but I can only wonder why he has not hit the line that hard earlier in his career?

he always hits that hard...people on here have been rating him as our best defender in the side for ages....

If only he made a few meters with the ball...he could have been one of the best ...

I really hope your wrong here.

From what I've seen of Blair this year (admittedly only a little) your right though.

I've considered the possibility that Blair might not have the motivation to keep up form with out the black jersey or Bellamy kicking him up the arse. Slightly concerning.
