Give Langi A Game

Langi could be anything!.....im not just saying that but when i was playing RL he was a year below me & smashed every point scoring record there was in the Canterbury district!!

He was the bets player in a side that didn't loose a game for 3 years....he has pace, size & skill but injuries have really been a problem for him & also the fact that i think he was rushed to early in his career by Chris Anderson played a part.

Chances are he'll get a shot sooner rather than later, Kativerata couldn't get too many more chances if his form doesn't improve, and Jamie doesn't look like coming back any time soon.

I think he will get his chance, but i don't think he played much footy towards the end of last year. So a bit more game time in PLwill probably help him.

What is the problem with kativerata? He made more metres than anyone else last week and had a dig.

He did bugger all wrong defensively either. He was stuck between a rock and a hard place everytime thanks to the bad misreads by the players inside him.

never said there was a problem with him, just stated what bs thinks of him, if he is to replace our top try scorer, and bob gets shifted out of position , i lean towards kat becomming a pet, just stating the obvious. I didnt see the whole game so I wont critisise YET

Were you at the game live last weekend PB, because I think his defensive deficiencies didn't really show up on television, but EVERY play he would mark inside his winger, it looked more like he was numbered up against the centre. Sure this works when there isn't much room down the sideline and the defense is cramped, but so many times he'd leave the wing wide open, twice the Bulldogs got balls clean around him, but both times were called back for forward passes (one near the line Lolesi dropped as well). It's something I think he's done his whole career.

As well, watching the game again, his dummy half running was very ineffective for a guy as big as he is, getting pushed backwards constantly while Petersen, Vaealiki and especially Grothe made some good yards. Sure he took a lot of runs, but he didn't do much to get out of our own end. His tackling style isn't too bad, but his positional defense is as bad as, if not worse, Chris Walker. I think his pushing in in the defensive line is what caused a lot of the positional errors inside him, i.e Jamie Lyon's abysmal effort.

He did bugger all wrong defensively either.

He needed to come in off his wing on the first try when Tonga strolled into a gaping hole. He stayed out on his wing leaving Lyon to mark up 2 players (Mason & Tonga) and he wasn't even visible on the TV screen he was out so wide. Ok, he didn't have an awful game but I just don't see how you can go past Peterson and Grothe as first choice wingers. Hope he proves us wrong but i'm not holding my breath.

He definatly has talent. He was blooded to soon with the Storm and hence faded out.

I think he will prove a solid first grader in the years to come. He was once compared to a young Mal Meninga.
