Goalkicking

I love Benji, but I can't help but feel his goalkicking - or to be kinder to him, the fact that he is our best goalkicker - toward the back end of the season has really cruelled our season.

24-24 and Robbie puts it out on the full. Turning point of the match. Fact is we should have been (at least) 26-24 and with most other kickers, would have been. With the lead I don't think that error would have been made.

There may be a lot of other things wrong, but we have lost a lot of matches by narrow margins. During the off season, I think we have to find a spot for someone who can kick at 80%.

Frustrating and heartbreaking as it was, I remain tremendously proud of my team tonight.

Proud?

Im not proud of another failed season of missed opportunities.

We showed some courage this season, which was nice, however that should be a given in first grade football, to try hard. I would be much prouder if we knew how to play smart football and execute at key times.

Your right on the goalkicking. Its costly in close games.

Tuiaki is the leading tryscorer so a lot of our tries come on the wing so are converted from the sideline. This might sound naive but maybe they could focus their attack more towards the posts.

Flanagan is a gun kicker I hear...

Benji's kicking has been poor but maybe he will have another offseason to work on it and will get above the 80% mark....

Didnt we let someone called Brett Hodgson leave, someone who was a better kicker, fantastic in attack, and actually wanted to stay???

Whilst Hodgo was better than Benji,he to was very unreliable,we need a 80% kicker, from where I don't know.

lets just get sum1 who specialises and bulk him up n put him on wing replace beau ryan.

one thing tht bug me is that tuiaki when he score try he never rushes around to get closer. one time he coulda gone under posts n benji miss kick. he still my fav but it gotta be addressed

Spot on, and this revolves around our inability to make any in-roads up the middle of the park against every other side in the comp.

An extra prop would be quite helpful

You're a champion madunit!

I wasn't too far off - 78% in '07, even better in '08 - is he kicking in ESL?

He is, but we haven't got all goal attempts data entered in yet on the site, so I can't really throw that in yet

Was proud of the performance against the Titans rather than the season as a whole.

Your problem is that you see every opinion as binary.
