1st round is underway in the 123rd U.S. Open. Catch the action live all day long from The Los Angeles Country Club!
Leaderboard can be found at https://www.usopen.com/
Early in the day American Jacob Solomon leads at -3 thru 11.
The Aussies were doing ok,
Lucas Herbert E thru 10
Adam Scott +1 thru 5
Jason Day +3 thru 7.
Cam Davis, Cam Smith and (A) Karl Vilips soon to tee-off.
Traditionally this event can cruel the best on day one. The aim is to try and shoot par otherwise day two the field can get away.
The last Aussie to win was Geoff Ogilvy in 2006 when he took out the title with a bogey on the last (+5) beating Phil Mickelson. The winning score gives you an idea of how hard scoring can be.
+5 won't be repeated this year however.
My early tips are Tommy Fleetwood and Max Homa but it will be interesting to see if Cam Smith can feature after having little lead up tournaments in the US.
Last year's winner Matt Fitzpatrick beat fav Scotty Scheffler and he's yet to tee off. Scheffler is fav again but I have doubts.
