I am bloody proud of the effort the boys put up, or thought we would be here after losing to Brisbane 3 weeks ago. Well done Manly and to their fans, particularly those that came on here Ceagle and Woodyk2.

No

It was a complete load of bollox. They may have had that many tickets taken, but given the weather we would have been lucky to squeak much over 2,000

That was one of the best 80 minute efforts I've ever seen from us in terms of go-forward and defensive intensity. We won the ruck and pretty much repeated our Storm effort from last week.

The difference was that Manly had a couple more tricks up their sleeve and luck on their side. We lost to a bloke grubbering from his own 20 and a ridiculous behind the back pass. You can't stop stuff like that.

Ultimately Noa is bang on the money- the tactics we have used for the last 3 games can win big games, but they are not the right tactics. Cleary coaches fear and caution. I hope we come out next year and play football. Call me naive, but I think we are good enough to do it.

You guys should have played like Newcastle did V Parra in 2001.

Massive underdogs just tore into them like there was no tommorrow from the start, and spent the whole second half holding on for grim death - worked for us.

Such a shame but as has been said it was a great effort. All us bandwagoners might one day rue the year we jumped on board. I fear we may be witnessing the birth of a dynasty.

BTW: I f**king hate Manly.

Lol, judging by the amount of people still viewing the topic, it's not just me hurting and can't sleep! ;-)
Got no complaints, beaten fair and square...but shocked how much this one has disheartened...considering never expected to get to the GF tbh.
Proud of the guys...and if we feel bad our poor young fellas must be feeling like shit. But I gotta say I won't be watching sport for a few weeks I don't think, to settle down again. These close games since the Tigers, and three intense games today have been too much for me! ;-)

More excited about the future this club has than disappointed about losing tonight, although it would've been odd to see a brand new coach having his first game over in England for the WCC. Don't think that's been done before. Ah well.[/QUOTE]

I think a certain Bluey McClennan's first game in charge of the Rhinos was a WCC game! How ironic would that have been!
Real shame you guys didn't get that on - would have been fun in our house as the Mrs is from Welly!
Was a really good game to watch this morning and it was a great effort from you guys.
Hope the Rhinos can pull off a win next Saturday and good luck to Bluey and you guys for next year!:D

Just home from the game. Great atmosphere. Feel gutted with the result, but bad calls and dropped balls cost us that game.

You guys will come good after a few days, plus it is hard to keep feeling down with such a bright future ahead for your club.

To be honest I'm not feeling down about anything other than the season being over.

As you said, the future looks bright and I'm keen to see what extra dynamic Bluey brings to the team along with Locke/Johnson having a full off season to get their combo going strong as there were a couple of times today that timing was a split second off and it gave Manly time to adjust.

My only concern is the large contingent of Warriors who will be sure to tour with the Kiwis, giving Bluey a slightly disrupted off season and the players a little less time to recover. Hopefully the pain of a GF loss will spur them on though.

Like everyone else, I'd like to pass on my regards to all the Warriors fans. Unlike the pain one feels when their own side is beaten I was really disappointed in what may have been. That loose ball on the 3rd tackle from the drop out after that amazing last tackle play was the killer. I really thought the pendulum had swung with the Warriors coming home with a wet sail. Manly were out on their feet! Anyway, great effort & all the best for next year.

As a eagles fan the one thing i have to say is well played warriors. I guess given trhe history of kiwi playing for the eagles over the years you boys i have always had a soft spot for.
The talent is on this side to get back and win the title bluey must not waste this wndow of about 2 to 3 years. The side only gets stronger berrigan and ropati back from injury plus young guns Hurrel and fishaii in the centres make the strength strong along with the addition of nathan friend. The discipline that ivan has instilled and forward power along with 2 superstars of the game johnson and the beast.
They say you have to lose one to win one so the plan for next year is easy for the warriors get back to the big game, maybe a few guys not going to the uk for tour may help next years warriors.

Well we have lost two now. Needed to make the big dance again in next two years to really gain anything from this loss, as salary cap moves players on.

To my fellow Kiwi brothers, hard luck on last nights game. You should be proud of your boys and the effort they've put in this year and in finals footy. That come back last night had me very nervous and with the unpredictability of players like Johnson and company anything could of happenned.

Hope you guys come back bigger and stronger next year!

Now to unite against our enemies for the 4 Nations tournament!
