Rumours have started about a mysterious Stanmore Faction of Newtown Jets supporters that are trying to lobby for certain changes next year. Led by a mysterious Warren View Hotel identity, among the proposals is one to have the Frank Hyde Cup renamed the Fred Teasdell Cup. Is this a case of young blood going too far to modernise the game.

There is some support for this from the Ben Cook Fan Club - who would not stop raving about the Faction at the Grappa Sports Dinner.

The faction and you know them very well Jeffles is a small rebel group who would prefer us to merge with another non NRL club across the bridge with they have a close relationship and passion for. This group which also includes a high profile offical from a fledgling international team have been running amok spreading their gospel for reasons which are known only to them and considering they hold regular meetings at the Oxford Tavern are a very unusual group.

I am sure you do Hornet. the leader of this rebel group is a fair weather supporter who dresses in the royal blue but has a red and black heart and speaks of them at every opportunity.
