Gordon Tallis as Commentator

Is it only me or is any one else embarrased by Gordon Tallis as a commentator. Any body looking on from any other code must wonder why a neanderthal is allowed to broadcast his views in such an illetrate method. And his ravings about not being in favour of some rules,,,,,,,,, for gods sake they are the current rules, live with them. What a meat head.......

i think he's pretty good. he reads a game well.

despite his poor delivery, i enjoy what he has to say.

i didnt like the fact he said all props are scoring tries cause of webcke leaving i mean wtf hes not the only big name prop leaving :roll:

I'm not a huge fan of Gordy's commentating...... until I think about Gary Freeman and the Kiwis commentating....

Then I am a huge fan of Gordy's commentating.

What got him the gig was the fact that as a player he was always good for a quote, like Mason is now, and did not give the usual mindless dribble most other players do. Now as commentator he is not being himself, and is obviously nervous.

Yes I agree he is pretty awful, but I'm always prepared to give a bloke a year's grace. Laurie Daley was pretty ordinary at first but is now excellent, although he is dropping into Gould's habit of repeating sentences.

Got my dose of Gordy yesterday, he wasnt all that great but with the other tossers that get around nowadays i cant complain. I cant stand sterlo anymore. He is more concerned of picking up what could possibly be wrong, rather than commentating on what was good, ie, if someone scores a solo try "he probably should of passed that ball rather than go himself." Pearce is woeful also, and thats coming from a tigers fan.

Edit: Also someone said Gordy must be nervous, i noticed yesterday when he gets excited he has voice blowouts that rival a PE teacher on steroids

TRAGIC is the first word that comes to mind, actually the whole fox team are at an all time low as far a commentary goes, all but the A Team of Smith, Daley and Alexander. The rest? Strugglers to be kind!

I agree. He doesn't seem to take himself too seriously either, and I actually enjoy his humour. There's a lot worse than him going around.

Gordie has some work to do to "improve his game" as a commentator though all bar a handful out there are in the same boat - some more than others.

The big fella is rough around the edges, a bit raw it has to be said though I would rather persist with Tallis and in preference to any one of the New Zealand contingent for FOXSPORTS.

It could be worse, you could have Matt Johns and Paul Harragon commentating FULL TIME for the 80 minutes - great guys, great players - though infuriating at times with there "preferences"

Bring back Warren Boland and the ABC commentary crew to the NRL!

I agree, Tallis' commentary is embarrassing for the game.
