What about John Lang as new Australian coach?

As a piece of trivia, do you guys know whom John Lang picked as his starting halves and replacement half when he coached the Australian Super League team against GB in 1997?

That's correct. Kimmorley came off the bench to play dummy half, Gower was at half, though Daley did take a lot of ball. Lang did a good job with that Australian team and so could do a good job again.

Daley killed that series, he was outstanding. I cant remember much of Kimmorley playing dummy half but I'd love to get a look at the tapes. I couldnt imagine it!

Yep, Daley was at his absolute best in that series, possibly the peak of his career. Hattrick of tries in the first test; ran superbly, passed superbly, set up tries, kicked with pinpoint precision, setting up a try in the 1st minute of the 3rd test with the perfect cross field kick. Brilliant.

True, it's hard to believe, but he did; he only got a bit over 10 minutes I remember a few passes and a grubber kick that went dead because it was his breakout year in RL and he played for his country. Still got tests 2 and 3 on VHS I think, unless the latter tape fell apart :)

For this series, I think Gower and Noddy will make a formidable halves combo.
