No saab, the title of the thread, and the ability for some qld'ers wanting to stick the boot into bee sting head, even when he is right is pathetic, much like your lame attempt at an insult.

I agree, he's Captain Obvious with a touch of relish at sinking the boot into an old rival. Even with your editing, the vast majority is self-evident.

On the sixth day Gus created all the rugby league players and said it was good. (Gospel of Johnsy)

Bookmakers have been swamped with bets suggesting the Cowboys' Graham Murray is about to become the first NRL coach sacked in 2008. It's a time-honoured formula that the best form guide you can ever find on a racetrack is to follow the money. The smart money could be right on the mark with this tip as well.

Correct gus.

No one could blame the North Queensland management if they decide to end their association with Murray very soon. The Cowboys have already told the coach he is not wanted beyond this season. They've already signed his replacement for next year.

Correct gus.

For all concerned it's probably best they bite the bullet and end this thing quickly, rather than allow their mediocre team performances to drag on any longer.

Correct gus.

Telling a coach before a season starts that he is unwanted beyond the current year almost always leads to a poor season. Appointing a new coach to take his place before the current season ends only exacerbates an already untenable situation.

In the cowboys current situation, correct gus.

I can't believe Murray would want to continue working at the Cowboys under these circumstances. The losses are not looking good on his record and he must feel frustrated he has so little control over his team's results. Murray is no doubt holding on to collect the contract moneys to which he is entitled. The Cowboys should do the right thing, pay the man his dosh and let the suffering end. Then everyone can get on with their lives.

Correct gus.

No one likes to see people lose their jobs and it is always hard for any management to have to end someone's tenure before it is due. But the Cowboys' management is responsible for the club's future. No one person is bigger than the club; the club must always come first.

Correct again gus.

Roosters chairman Nick Politis has a lot of sayings. One of his best is: "Losing is bad for business."

Correct gus.

He's 100 per cent right. Losing is very bad for business. In this day and age, when clubs rely on gate takings and sponsorship to help balance the books, it is imperative your team is winning and demanding its fair share of viewing time on free-to-air television.

The Cowboys are in a rut. They're back in second-last position and, for a club with such a talented roster of players, this is an unacceptable situation. It is highly unlikely this coach can resurrect the Cowboys' fortunes this season. Once a coach has lost his players he rarely wins them back.

Correct gus.

The first indication that players are not committed to their coach is in the team's attitude to defence. The Cowboys have been poor in this area for the last 15 months and their last three losses have shown up some alarming defensive lapses.

Jeeeeesus, gus is correct again.

Their management is probably aware such a decision would attract stinging criticism from sections of the media who have been staunch Murray supporters over the years.

However, they should never underestimate the intelligence of the public, who really do see through these juvenile campaigns.

First part correct, scond part I cannot agree with that, I lived in Townsville for 4 years.

Gee, if I worried about what was said in the Daily Astonisher, I'd never say or write a thing! I can assure you that will never happen. Anyway, the North Queensland Cowboys are a great rugby league club. They are also too important to the success of the NRL for them not to be performing at their best.

Corret gus.

They need to act now to stop the bleeding and get themselves back on track.

100% correct, and the clubs actions back up this article 100%. Yeah gus is really giving it to Murray oin that article. FMD :lol::lol:

Tell me what of what you have highlighted is Gus been "proven right".

Your making out that Gus has come up with something that nobody has already said in the media and got it "right".

Ive never stated that Gus is "giving it to Murray". Im saying there is nothing in that article that hasnt been said before, in fact about a paragraph or two, especially the one about "no one is bigger than the club" has been wholly plagarised from Martin Locke's article of 4 days ago.

Look @ how much effort you went to to prove uncle Gus "correct"....get off his hairy bean bags!
So Gus wrote an article about Murray....he was proved right....keep throwing Darts and you will end up being correct.
Let me remind you what he said about Lockyer in 2006 how he should give up the captaincy...yeah one of Gus' best!

I not willing to concede the point that he was "proven" right.

He wrote an opinion after 10 weeks of speculation that Murray should leave the club, and Murray now has.

Explain to me how that proves anything?

That would be like me writing an article about how Souths are the most underperforming team in the comp. Wow what a revelation??

I am not sure what your infatuation with testicles is, but best of luck with that.

I am not throwing darts, just pointing out to the author who took objection to the article, and even chose the phrase "Gould Knifing Muzz again", and subsequently showing that it is a joke to make this claim.

I agreed then, that gould was wrong, and it was a ridiculous statement to make. Please remind us all exactly what point are you trying to make again ?

I am not saying you are throwing darts..i am saying Gus is...with his articles. Sure, he has opinions and he is paid to express them, but this is not the league worl according to Gus.
You are on some lone crusade to prove Uncle Gus correct about something.

Wake up Johnsy and smell the roses instead of Gus' aftershave. He's gleefully sinking the boot into an old rival that he knifed while Muzz was at the Rorters to install his bum-chum/protege.

Well where are the articles, according to some QLD'ers, taking pot shots or knifing someone does not take much at all. Looking forward to seeing some of these pot shots.

Or let me guess, we take you at your word. You have been dishonest once already, forgive me if your word is not worth a pich of sh*t.

I was not there I don't know what happened, he may well have. That point is not in dispute. But how has he knifed muzza again ?

This should be good................
