Brandy has always struck me as having a pretty vindictive, almost scared side to him. A lot of opinions he has seem to either work in favour of his club, against those they might be playing, or in regards to the Warriors where he seems to feel a bit aggrieved about his time there.

As others have said, I'd very much doubt it. He would be wanting to comment on matters decided by the Commission which he may have been outvoted on, and commenting via the media would put him at odds with the other Commissioners.

V'Landys though is in a different boat. Firstly he is Chairman of the ARLC, whilst he is CEO of Racing NSW. They are not direct competitors per se, nor is it a position paid for by a media organisation like Channel Nine.

When you look at the relationship between news ltd and racing nsw you could argue there is in fact a very serious conflict of interest for Vlandys, especially when it comes to deciding tv deals.

Safe bet: the media relationships that give horse racing a good run in NSW

Sydney’s main news providers have many interests in common with the pugnacious leadership of Racing NSW. Have they become too close?
