Why do I have memories of Gower signing with Penrith for life not so long ago? I thought he signed a 5 year deal, and copped a heap of praise over it. Did I dream that?

he had a get out clause, but because of the panthers success 2003 he had that removed and signed on.
anyway...whats a contract mean in todays league world? answer...nothing

No kidding. The Tahs could finally win the big one with the likes of Anderson Katirivata and Lenny Beckett leading the charge.

those clowns wouldnt make alot of the NRL's PL teams, and now they are Tah's full timers
says alot about the talent in union... outside australia team they got a sweet f**k all

Benji Marshall?
SBW??
Tate?
Lyon??
Menzies??
Peachey??
Jones??
El Masri??
Lockyer??

Kimmorley?
wait not even union would want him

If they take Menzies and Peachey we'll throw in Kimmorley.
oi manly basher behave

Ok fine, they can have Hasler too, but I think even they know he can't coach but it's worth a shot.

I doubt he will go to union. Only the big headed players seem to change codes, not the humble blokes. I'm more worried about Salfords offer.

Willett is a pain in the ass. I know that.

Gower will deinately not go to union.

I'll tell u that now. Salford is a possibility, but its just Salford and Penrith.

Every decent player of the NRL is linked to union. Its all wash and rumours, no substance.

Gower might not have a spot if he signs for the following season.

Don't forget wycliff palu! (who?)

Came to the Dragons in 04 after a few seasons with the warratahs , Spent 95% of the season on the bench for reserve grade because he wasnt fit enough..

Guess where he has gone in 05' .. Straight back into the warratahs full time squad ..

I can't see him not going going to Salford. 500K a year :whistle for 4 years. I think I'd be taking it

It would be a tough time for Panthers fans, having your captain, best player & Play-maker tipped to be signing with another club, maybe even Union!

When does he come off contract?

i doubt he would sign with salford for so long as next year 2 teams face the drop in SL and salford arnt that great so they could drop next year . and if he wants to go to union just go dont talk your self up try to great more money they are paid too much now anyway he shouldn`t get any more then what he is on now. that what it all about milk the club for more money like johns did they know the nrl and the clubs dont want to lose them.

Yeah, it would be tough, I guess... but it's not all bad - we could shift Campbell to half. But Gower would definitely leave a massive hole... perhaps like Johns and Newcastle, but on a smaller scale.

End of next year he is off contract - which is why there is all this attention now. What I've heard is he's going to sit down with the Panthers in January to try to thrash out a deal. I'm confident he'll stay.

I can imagine Gower considering the Salford offer.

Let's face it, he's done everything in league.

He's played for his state and his country.

He's Captained his club side to a premiership.

And 4 million dollars is a lot of money.

It's a pity for the Panthers that the salary cap means that they can't compete with this offer even if they could afford it.

I can't see him playing Yawnion. I doubt he would enjoy it.

When these guys go to union they make the rep sides in a flash.

The lack of depth in yawnion is mind-boggling.

Can you explain to me in what you mean by Rep sides in Union? I didn't think there were any bar the national team.

I don't care what the super 12 teams are called they are NOT rep teams, they are club teams. If they can buy and sell players from other states it is not a representative team. The real only rep team in Union is the National team.

Super 12 is unions boring comparison to the NRL to be honest.

Front rower is 100% correct. Super 12 ain't a rep comp. Sydney's comp is there equivalent of our premier league comp. Super 12 is there pathetic equivalent of our NRL comp.

Not quite true. The Super 12 teams are made up of players taken from SEVERAL DIFFERENT CLUBS.

They're like rep teams but without an eligibility requirement (e.g. being born in NSW/QLD/ACT).

union :sleeper: is pathetic.

Super 12 is the next level down from the national team. It's rep enough.

Who would have thought, union coming up with something like this to attempt to take attention away from the NRL world cup final. Soooo predictable.
