Sorry to hear about the passing of Graham Wilson. I remember my father taking me to Newtown games as a youngster in the early 60's & raving about him . He was a big red head guy who was very difficult to tackle. He toured with the Kangaroos in 1963 & transferred to Cronulla when they started out in 1967. He owned a Butcher shop not far from where we lived & his sons Craig & Alan played frist grade with Cronulla & Norths.
Thanks for the memories big fella.

Yes Rest In Peace Graham Wilson from an Old Shark Supporter

I just posted the information of his passing in the Sharks Forum.

As Bluebagger has mentioned above, Graham transferred over to the Sharks in 1967.

I clearly remember him scoring a try for the sharks in a reserve grade game in the twilight of his career. He caught the ball near the centre of the field on the halfway line and made a diagonal run towards the north western corner of Endeavour Oval. He was unstoppable and brushed off player after player, touching down a metre or so in from touch.

I was about twelve at the time and I just couldn't believe the strength of the man and the determination he displayed. I thought then that I would of loved to see him playing in his prime.

He reminded me of some of those big free running Pommy B forwards.....

Again R.I.P Graham Wilson

One of the tough guys of Rugby League. When play was TOUGH. A typical Blue Bag. I loved his style. Plus he was a dual international - Australia and South Africa (guest tourist in 1963 on their trip to New Zealand. Not many can claim that honour!!!!)
