if the roosters win it wont make any difference

if the panthers win well.....

i for one will have to scrape a pile of egg off my face as i have continually ignored their chances this year

but more importantly than that if lang is able to grab the big one in his 2nd season at penrith there will be an air of supernatural dread about the sharks

lang would join a procession of successful coaches who couldnt get the sharks over the line

are we haunted? - this will be the question on the lips of the superstitious


any way it is all academic as the roosters will win by 30

Nah, I don't think we're haunted, just plain unlucky. But Penrith reminds me heaps of the old Sharks which will probably mean they can't win this week. Roosters are a well oiled machine and won't make the dumb mistakes the Warriors made.

That's the money line for me. I just don't see Penrith getting up on Sunday. The Bondi juggernaut will roll straight through them on current form, as good as the Panthers have been this year.

Still, that's life. I'm hoping the Panthers win. They're a lot, lot more than the nominal Cronulla connection - Gower, Girdler, Wesser, Clinton, two match winning wingers and a dominant 2nd. row. Roosters are favourites but this lot could surprise.

Getting in the Grand Final is the hard part. Winning it is a flip of the coin.

Roosters chances have increased even further with 5metres&nopenalties Bill in charge though.

To succeed, the Sharks need to do something different rather than repeat their own history over & over again. What they are doing now won't work. They have tried it before & it didn't work then either, on each occasion.

Player strength & depth is the key. Money should be spent to get the club in that position. Not on a washed up, overpriced coach.

Well, considering the current team we have, I don't think the outcome of the GF is really going to affect to any of the players. There aren't many of them left who played under Lang!

It is small minded. It doens't incorporate any of the other important issues.
The question is, do you think it is enough?
If given the choice of two leaders, ones objective was to win the GF & the others was to create a self sustaining, powerful rugby league club, which leader would you choose?

Even after the NEWS grant we were still down on what the other clubs spent by a long shot.
Powerful as in Manly were, powerful as in the Dogs were. As Brisbane are. As Penrith are. As Roosters are.
Financially powerful.
The Sharks have never been a powerful club. Have bounced from one verge of administration to another.
Self sustaining & powerful.
Not self sustaining & treading water.
