Grand Final Day thoughts

I will start with Terry Lamb - the sight of him still pisses me off.

On to Toyota Cup - Half time. I haven't seen too much of it so I dont want to give the kid a bum rap, but can Mullaney tackle? He didn't even try to make one, tried to slap the ball out of someones hand as they ran past him like Joel Caine in his prime.

Hyland, Schirnack, Woods, Fifita and Dwyer look good, as does the winger who runs it back hard, forget his name, and the other winger Samau? looks ok too.

Mmmm - that winning "try" by the Storm show why video ref's have their place.

Robert Lui is NOT 1st grade standard at this time. Took him 79 minutes to run the ball, and when the pressure is on he makes the wrong plays. That kick on the 4th to turn the ball over in the last 5 minutes, not the right play...

How did Lui go? From the 20mins or so i seen of the game he still looked like the over rated lazy tackle missing myth ive always thought he was. I liked the look of fafita, he made some strong runs but im not a fan of the stupid hair crap he had goin lol.... Dwyer also looked good.
What did everyone think of the storm try that won the game? Looked sus to me and was typical of a tigers lose.

Was trying to be kind, but I agree with you about Lui - he looked old, slow and arthritic - not what you expect from an Under 20, I'd still like to see his Birth Certificate...

Mullaney looks good in attack, good acceleration off the mark, saw him make a decent fullbacks tackle in the 2nd half.

Fifita DOES have stupid hair, he's young and probably dumb, but I hope he keeps improving from here because he looks good in the age bracket.

As soon as I saw him on screen, I knew that would irk some.

20's unlucky, probably the better team for most of the match.

BRET, they lost it in the 1st half...terrible passing game all round

Matt hyland is a joke. Offers nothing in attack and comes up with at least 1 costly error every game i.e the knock on from the kick off. You can find blokes who will make 40 ineffective tackles in every park Footy side in Australia.

I wonder what the Parra haters were saying after Archer penalised Moi Moi when Slater dropped the ball cold...to all those that say Parra got every roll of the dice, that there was a conspiracy to see them win - what changed I ask you?

Lui and Hyland were sh*t.

I was out there and was screaming my head off when Lui did that sh*tty grubber on the last I had half the 5,000 people that were there all looking at me. Not up to NYC standard, let alone FG.

Hyland made some crucial errors, but worked his backside off.
Lui was rubbish
Dwyer, Mullaney and Fifita all looked very good
Schirnak, the other Fifita and Woods I think have better games in them, but still went alright
Curran had a very good game off the bench
Corby, Florimo, Nicholls, Jackson and Savou were solid
Wiseby and Clarke lacked any real punch

Forget the try that won them the game, what about the disallowed "double movement" up the other end? What do you reckon? I thought it was a pretty harsh call...

We was robbed!

Can't see any of those lads stepping up in a hurry if that's their grand final quality game...

I thought it was a clear double movement - a brain fart from a youngster on an early tackle when momentum was with them and a try looked on the cards which would have sealed the game...

You reckon? It didn't look like his arm had touched the ground yet...

Anyway, hope he learns something from it.

Don't fret it. Either way we should have had the trophy in the cabinet...

Balmain looked pretty ordinary in NSW cup GF. Couldn't score a point. I now understand why Josh Lewis hasn't played 1st grade yet.

Think u20's were good enough to win, just a bit of bad luck.
