The one thing worse than seeing a live performance of someone DJing is someone miming to DJ, such as this kid did tonight in the middle of his pre-game set. Randomly went down to a mix deck and started fiddling with dials and knobs then went continued doing whatever he was doing before. The sound never changed. His fiddling did bugger all except look like he was some DJ.
Needed more Clint Dogg

Foo Fighters are playing at the Singapore Grand Prix the day before the Grand Final this year. Would be worth asking the question.

Whether you like his music or not , Jason Derulo would be a good choice to get more traction in the US market leading up to Las Vegas . A recent Super Bowl performer , he was in Australia in August 2023 to record the Voice. Has an unbelievable social media following , especially on Tik Tok and would be great worldwide advertising for the NRL.

I’d say stick to artists that attract gen Z.

Someone said Sabrina Carpenter, that would be a huge get she’s blowing up. Travis Scott. Bad Bunny. The Weekend. One of those would be massive.

The correct answer is still and always will be Frenzal Rhomb.

But the real answer should be something like Parkway Drive

Might be tight timing. They would gain 2 hours, but it's still a 7.5 hour flight to Sydney.
Has the NRL purchased that private jet yet?

If the NRL wants a comedy act instead of a musical act maybe they get S'uA to recreate his Tigers try assist. It's not as if the Dragon's will have anything to do after round 27.

Get both, it’s kind of ironic you mentioned Nirvana in response to the Fooeys, because the Nirvana drummer looks a lot like the Foo Fighters frontman.

Nah Nirvana will do.

They can do 3 songs from Bleach just to piss the crowd off. The Fooeys lead singer will finally get his moment in the sun as the frontman of Nirvana in place of Kurt and Chad Channing makes his long-awaited return on the Bleach sticks.

Then Mr Fooey can finish off with -'Marigold'. Don't need Kurt for that one.

A few ideas to put out there. Hopefully they will go with someone substantial.

Pop
- Kylie Minogue: She has a newish album and will have just finished a global tour in August so may be available. Australian names in pop don't get much bigger.
- Rose: She is big at the moment, and on the rise after that apt song. An Australian who just did the F1 theme and taps into the K-Pop / Blackpink scene. Could be worth a go to diversify interest in NRL?

Rock
- Foo Fighters: As someone else said they are playing the F1 in Singapore the day before. That is a short turnaround though and doesn't really leave time for sound checks etc
- Coldplay: Like Kylie, will just have finished a global tour in September and known for being good live, getting the stadium lit up etc. Pair it with glow wristbands and we are set.
- Oasis: Will be in between European and Asian legs of their world tour. Would need to return to Australia a month or so later for the Aussie leg.
- Metallica: Australian tour begins at start of November with no other dates in lead up. Could be workable?

Rap:
- Kendrick Lamar: He is signed up to some end of year concerts in Australia, including some smaller places like Canberra and Ballarat. A little controversial but could be gettable in that context?

I’d have Nathan Cavallari opening with a tight 5 minutes before the main event of the Deltones performing a 5 song medley.
