Great Britain and Ireland Lions

Get up 'em Zef.

Isn't there a compromise possible?

Couldn't the British team be called the "Gormless Twonks" or something similar?

Surely the Lions is a taken name in F7's.

Ahh, it's a sad day in the sevens when we start arguing about a name that has been associated with Great Britain since the dawn of time (exaggeration noted ;-) ) Does this mean that the kiwi team have to get permission from the poster Kiwi to use that name? Maybe I need to register as Kangaroo so I can lay claim to that name.

Boys and Girls....really! Zef! :x How about spending your spare time writing part two? ;-) :D

In an executive management decision (Willow can kick my arse later) I think we can safely assume that the teams for the tri-series will be known as....

Great Britain Lions
New Zealand Kiwis
Australian Kangaroos

Any thoughts contrary to the above can be taken to the management section or, feel free to utilise the PM function. 8)

Oh dear.

An executive decision has been made. LOL

Pretty lame. One posting from Zef and that's the end of the discussion?

Maybe you should have made it known to Roosterboy when he called the new team the Lions that there was the possibility of an International series and that the Lions would be part of that?

Too lateral?

LOL oh you are a sad sad bastard..

Well, I've never....

I really do object to that, I'm not sad - I'm a happy bastard.

And TRUE Lions don't whinge either, we just get very, very cranky and want to eat something - something British. I still say this is sacrilige, but as my Captain has given it the green light - I'll follow his lead.

But be warned, you p.ss us off again and I'm rounding up the pride for some serious eating.

I don't think the tri-series will clash with F7s competition. The British Lions and the Sydney Lions are two different teams.

How about we have a Welsh Dragons team in there as well? Assuming its OK with St George....

I would've thought you'd cal the Welsh "The Welsh Drinkers" - cause they sure can.

Seriously though - how about something simple and apt, like "The Boring British & Irish"? "The Boars" for short.

I'll make you's a banner with a big f***in's boar in it - with a dummy in it's mouth.

I've got a bit of Welsh in me. True, the Welsh do enjoy a guzzle so we can't be called the Welsh Wowsers.
But we're all singers mate. So the Welsh Warblers, as we will be known, are ready to take the field and Tom Jones will be our captain.

Ah yes, drinking and singing - they go together like carrots and peas. And nobody does it better than The Welsh, God bless them.

And if the whinging Poms think us Lions are upset about them stealing (yea that's right - stealing) our good name, then I dare someone to start up a Sth African team called The South African "you know what" (think something big with a horn that Lions eat).

Go on.... I dare you's

if this thing is still going on, I'd be more than proud to play for my country, even if I am half aussie.
Go Great Britain Lions
