Great Canterbury v Parramatta clashes

I was at that 1998 semi final as a 10 year old kid....It was one of the greatest games I have ever seen... so many great moments. The comeback, Halligans kick from the side line, a few elderly parramatta supporters who had been rubbing it in to me a little just for a bit of fun... I couldnt stop laughing when bulldogs turned it around and won rubbing it back into them haha.

One of the greatest moments of the game that you never got to experience on the TV, was Craig Polla-mounter's 50m field goal.

At the ground we all thought it went over... everyone was delerious... it was the greatest kick in history !!!!!!! then they went to the video and it was a very anxious wait... it didnt matter anyway the next 10 minutes of extra time made Polla-mounter a bulldogs legend for life... who could ever forget his form in that.....

and Rod Silva in this Parramatta clash and the previous week vs Newcastle (I was at that game too) was just electric... some of the most exciting linebreaks id ever seen single handedly stepping almost the entire team from dead in goals. A few players immortalised themselves amoung dogs fans atleast during their run to the grand final.

How can any Parramatta/Canterbury supporter forget the two games in 2001, both teams were both on top of the table and both games went right down to the wire.

First game at Parramatta Stadium was 20 all, it was raining, a bolt of lightning hit the stands, but 20,000 of us didnt care. It was a great clash. Parra were leading, then Bulldogs were leading at half time, the momentum kept swining both sides, then it was all up to Hodgson to put Parra in front.

Then the second game at the Showground, which Parramatta won 24-16, great game. It was almost like the first game, it needed a last minute Vaeliki try to seal victory.

I was at that game. Best club game I have ever been to by a long way. It was awesome!

F**k what a team we had then. Surprised noone has mentioned Hetherington. He was probably our best during the finals series!

Then you look at the broncos lineup and your jaw drops. What a side they had during the 90's.

I wish i could rewind back to the 90's!

Unfortunately you're right, the final score was 28-10, but Bulldogs lead 22-0 at half time.

Simply carved up by Vagana, Utai and Mason.:(

That was also when Jason Robinson came on as replacement referee.

I think thats the game when Steve Clark did his hammy LOL

Tonight's was an awesome attacking game - 56 points in 80 minutes ain't bad, especially since we scored 34 of them.

Injuries killed us in that game.

The fact that Paul Carige wasn't injured was too much of an injury toll for any team to bear.

The little Paul Carige Award video of that 1998 game I made looks to be still alive

Contains CPM's oh so close FG attempt.

Nice video...

Sterlo ruined the field goal moment on the TV..glad i was at the ground!

Some commentators try build up suspense... Sterlo does the complete opposite. See everyone in the stands going crazy ? we all thought it went over lol
