I think it's a great album, it sounds more like American Idiot then it does there old stuff. Quite a few of the songs got a real 70s feel to it imo. Alot better then American idiot, one of the best albums in the last few years I think.

Mong,

I too really enjoyed American Idiot (not so much that song but thought the album was great).

So far I have heard 2 tracks and im sadley very disapointed. Reminds me of the warning album, just boring with no hooks.

Do you know the enemy and American eulogy are simply dull and repetative especially the know your enemy.

Will be ultimate fail like AI.

I was a huge GD fan when I was younger. Insomniac and Dookie are still two of my favourite albums.

But since AI I've disconnected myself totally. They've evolved into an absolutely terrible, terrible band.

i've heard all the songs and have been quite impressed. I liked AI due to it being a start to finish album which could be listened right through. the new one also has this quality. imo it will have less hit songs but is better as an album

They evolved from a band writing juvenile punk songs to a band with a political conscience.

America Idiot was a terrific album from start to finish. The new one is even more ambitous, not sure they've hit the mark though.

I'm the biggest Green Day fan out. Seen them live twice on the American Idiot tour. I loved American Idiot, but I've loved everything they've put out basically. This new album is amazing IMO. Theres hardly a song that I want to skip, and I think its gonna sound awesome in concert. Well worth the $18.99 at JB HI FI. My favourite songs from it would be in no particular order:

- 21st Century Breakdown
- The Static Age
- 21 Guns
- Viva La Gloria

Foxboro Hot Tubs > Green Day

Just about everything > Green Day.

You're kidding right? Writing Anti-Bush song's 5-6 years after he was elected after it became mainstream?

Wearing eyeliner and makeup, following the mainstream trends of p*ssy bands like My Chemical Romance?

Green day have evolved??

The same way a dog turd evolves when left outside for a week.

It's catchy, sells albums and has every kiddie buying Maybeline and a GHD hair straightener.

Each to their own of course, but if you want musical evolution, aspiring ambition and creativity, there are hundreds of bands that are so much more than Green Day.

.

It was four years after Bush was elected.

Listen to the album from start to finish and it places it in that context.

Now they're as big as they are, Green Day suffer from being too popular, all the too cool for school chats can't like them anymore. Musically, they're a quantam leap from their old stuff which was simple, 3 minute juvenile punk songs.

Green Day were known for wearing eye liner or dressing up before Dookie.

It's catchy, sells albums and has every kiddie buying Maybeline and a GHD hair straightener.

Coming from a guy who has just listed Insomniac and Dookie as two of their favourite albums?
