I said often the high profile fights are duds, not all boxing fights are duds.
My point was that mundine should have a crack at the real fighters rather waste his career against the so many nuffies he has fought.
I wasnt implying he actually fight Tszyu, de la hoya etc but those who are of there calibre (obiovusly when they were fighting not retired).

Whilstyour summary of boxing was interesting, it actually had nothing to do with my post.

You tool, I know what your post was about, hence my response...

you don't need big shoes and a red nose to look like a clown, eh!

(I know they are all different weight divisions but basically big name fighters who are the best and I have heard of)

To reiterate my point treacle...

big name fighters who you have heard of, yet you haven't heard that they are retired, finished, stalled career wise...

yet you comment on a boxing thread as though you are a fight fan...you're not, you watch big (hyped) fights like the majority of other so called 'pugilistic afficionados' who are only to happy to drone on uninformed...

over to you, legend

don't go throwing billy dibs name around, did you see his last fight?
that south african was all over him and dib won cause of his promo company.

thats was one of the biggest rorts i've seen in boxing...

to say dib is world class, shows you know f*ck all about boxing.

Whether you think he is world class or not, Dib has done more on the international stage than mundine could ever dream of. To quote the great joe calzaghe....... "Anthony who"

Yes maybe I know f**k all about boxing, so be it, whats gonna sting you later on is, I DONT GIVE A f**k WHAT YOU THINK.

I think you guys are being a little harsh on dibs. I missed his last fight but from what I've seen he has a future and a fairly good one. I've got a family member who is fairly high up in Australian boxing and he rates dibs as the biggest one to watch in a long while. In fact he calls me when ever he is fighting to make sure I watch it..

Green is a scrub but I respect him for the help he has given my man jamie pittman in the past year or so. Green needed/needs mundine alot more then mundine ever needed green.

You seem a little upset, perhaps a lie down and a cup of tea?

I said fighters 'like' those fighters at their best. I am aware that some are totally retired/half retired/finishing up etc.

Here I will help you out, see if you can comprehend that I was asking Mong how far off fighting fighters of that calibre, high profile big name fighters.

Simo said:
How far away would he be from fighting names like Hopkins, Mayweather, del a hoya, Tarva, Juda, Hatton, Tzu etc etc (I know they are all different weight divisions but basically big name fighters who are the best and I have heard of)

lol.....you mentioned the word tool in your little sook earlier, well I think we know who the tool is. Im sorry for commenting on a boxing thread as if im a 'fan'.

Can I ask, are you one of those computer playing people who considers themselves 'hardcore' and thus better than everyone else??

I dont give a sh*t what your standards are for considering someone a fan, if I like to watch high profile fights because I like the event and then talk about it on a discussion board I will.

People like yourself can get as high and mighty as you like about who gets to comment but too bad.

Please continue to admire yourself in the mirror, im sure you will convince yourself of you superiority....

So tell me Mr expert, what has Mundine actually done to make himself world class?

You Mundine fans are quick to knock his critics but short of facts to back up your arguement.

Billy Dib has a title does he not? He fights in america does he not?

Whats Mundine again??? thats right an INTERIM Title Holder Hahahaha

Now lets see, he has a mandatory against Kessler and decides to change wieght divisions, not a good buisness decision to take that fight?

I dont have to tell you anything, youre the one claiming Billy Dib is world class and Mundine is not

Ohh Billy Dib has got a world title? The great IBO world title, that noone gives a f**k about. How'd you forget that Dib was also WBF world champion, afterall thats another world title right? These alphabet titles mean nothing and I think you know this.

Not to mention Dib got beat up in his "world title" fight and got one of the biggest home town decisions seen in years, but we wont mention that because hes the great "IBO world champ"

WBA Interim title > IBO, WBF, LFT, LOL, RTD, whatever alphabet titles you think are "world titles".

All this dribble from you and you still cannot explain to me why you think mundine is world class, if I didnt mention Dib you wouldnt have an arguement, you got nothing, enjoying french rugby are we?

So youre conceding Im right and that its idiotic to say Dib is world class and Mundine is not?

Mundine is a two time world champion, whether its interim or not. It was WBA, one of the respected organisations by boxing fans. He was also rated #3 by ring magazine in the super middleweight division which was probably the most respected rating source in boxing.

Yet Dib is on the end of one of the worst robberies ive seen in recent years to win an alphabet title no one cares about and hes world class and Mundine isnt.

You know jack sh*t about boxing, I expect you to come back with a similar post to the one I quoted offering nothing but, "if i didnt mention Dib, you wouldnt have an argument". Well guess what, you did mention Dib and youve just been shown to be a complete idiot when it comes to anything releated to boxing. So your best option is probably to be quiet and try and learn from the people who actual have an idea about boxing.

Cheers

Hopkins is fighting Pavlik in October and I give him a decent chance of beating him too.

I heard that myself today, but the Ghost will have to pack on about 5kg for the catch weight...

so you're giving Hopkins a sniff at this one then, eh, the old fella's defence is still top drawer so you could be onto something...

but, I'm of the opinion that B-Hop just won't be able to tie Pavlik up...can't see Kelly slapping like Joe did, but it'll be one to watch when it goes off, eh!

You seem a little upset, perhaps a lie down and a cup of tea?

Thanks doctor, I would have preferred a script for some anti-psychotics, but as you wish...a good lie down and a cup of tea it is then.

lol.....you mentioned the word tool in your little sook earlier, well I think we know who the tool is. Im sorry for commenting on a boxing thread as if im a 'fan'.

Apology accepted...but 'sook', come on you sigh, you can do better than that, surely!

Can I ask, are you one of those computer playing people who considers themselves 'hardcore' and thus better than everyone else??

Yes you can ask...and it's obviously important as you've stuck two question marks on it, so lets have a butchers at the facts:

Simo - 5, 089 posts
chef - 24 posts

I think that reveals you are one of those 'computer playing people', eh, Simo...you must be on it all the time you plum, and please, 'hardcore'...grow up son.

I dont give a sh*t what your standards are for considering someone a fan, if I like to watch high profile fights because I like the event and then talk about it on a discussion board I will.

Good on ya, after all what type of shallow, feeble minded cretin would stop posting because someone has challenged them to a little discourse, eh!

People like yourself can get as high and mighty as you like about who gets to comment but too bad.

Are you going to finish this sentence, or is this it?

Please continue to admire yourself in the mirror, im sure you will convince yourself of you superiority....

I only look in the mirror twice a day Simo, getting ready for work in the morning and brushing my railings prior to getting some shut eye at night, on neither of these occasions do I need to convince myself of my superiority...look at my sig you lemon, I'm a plebian, a proletarian, one of the masses, the hoi polloi, or don't you get it.

I don't call that superior, but you're entitled to your opinion, although...

a very childish remark methinks, but that sums you up for the mug that you are...

stick to pub gossip and radio talk fella, you're in safe hands there...

after all you've admitted that you had heard of the fighters you've mentioned, and used them as marque names to show your boxing knowledge...

I said fighters 'like' those fighters at their best. I am aware that some are totally retired/half retired/finishing up etc.

but why if you knew most of them were finished etc...because you didn't know did you, or you would have used current examples...

that's where this little tete a tete began, and now you think you're big enough to take me into deep water...well carry on legend, just remember to bring your floaties with you

regards

Again the point is lost on you. Read it again, and you will see I made no mention of simply playing a computer game, more the referal yourself as better than others.
Post counts, very relevant to that point.....

For some reason there are many.

You can put whatever you like in your sig, doesnt change the manner in which you post.

lol, reading the above quote here you wonder why you give off the impression you fancy yourself?

Ok Mr Chef lets have a look at where this all started.

I directed a quote to Mong, that had 2 points.

1 - Big fights can be a let down. You seemed to take some offencse to that and listed a few fights. Very good, but this point is subjective as there are obviously good and bad fights.

2 - How far off fighting big named fighters is Mundine if he were to choose rather than chasing nothing (career wise) fights like the Green rematch?

So are you here to tell me that Mundine is indeed going to schedule fights against any of the blokes you then listed or was that just to show off your boxing thoughts?

Since we're exchanging pleasantries on a more formal footing, 'Mr' Simo, my thoughts on Mundine, and who he will, won't or can't fight are clear:

Now onto Choc...bailed out of super middle, why, to fight better opposition at 160. There are only three big fights for Choc at middle, Pavlik, Abraham and Sturm...in my opinion, he loses them all.

So, while Choc's struggling to get viewers for the Crazy Kim debacle, this is what's going on at 168...

Kessler regains Choc's WBA belt...
Bute will fight Andrade in October for the IBF title...
and Froch will match up with Jermain Taylor for Calzaghe's old WBC trinket...

Choc was number three in the ring ratings and with Calzaghe relinquishing his undisputed position as numero uno in the division it was all open for the Man. The potential to unify the division was there, and Choc drops to middle...

yet he'll go up two divisions for a 'big money' showdown with DG...

sounds like a bottle job to me, eh!

But onto your tedious points (that are apparently lost on me) again...

Why don't you explain what you mean regarding "computer playing people" and "hardcore" then fella, this isn't a game...and how are post counts irrelevant when you obviously spend all of your 'leisure' time spouting you opinion on these forums...obviously when you're not down the local pub discussing boxing, eh!

and while we're at it, the Collins Gem Australian English Dictionary defines forum as the following:

n. meeting or medium for open discussion or debate.

So, whilst you may have directed your two points to Mong, you posted them in an open forum and anyone can comment. If you just wanted to liaise with Mong why didn't you send him a pm ? I was simply pointing you towards some top drawer match ups as your lack of boxing knowledge was evident in your comments...a bit of care in the community Simo, just doing my bit to help those less fortunate...

now that's an arrogant comment, guilty as charged your honour...but its a binary opposition, superiority and inferiority are two sides of the same coin. So pray tell, do I post in a 'superior' manner or do you have an inferiority complex...

Rhetorical question Simo, so the toys can stay safely in the pram...

As Frank Lloyd Wright says: "early in life I had to choose between honest arrogance and hypocritical humility. I chose the former and have seen no reason to change"

alternatively, if you agree that our environment shapes our identity, as we shape the context in which we exist, then this might interest you...

Nietzsche: A person unlearns arrogance when he knows he is amongst worthy human beings; being alone fosters presumption. Young people are arrogant because they always associate with their own peers, those who are all really nothing but who would like to be important.

So, am I arrogant because I don't feel that I am among "worthy" posters, and if so does that make you someone who is "nothing but would like to be important". I guess we'll never know, eh!

We don't, and will never, know each other. We're anonymous, masked by the use of nom de guerres, so don't assume you know me by the 'manner' in which I post. I have no interest in your background, opinions, values etc...but mine are clear in my choice of avatar and sig, hence my earlier comment. Even so, you don't understand what I stand for, whilst I don't care what you think...that's a stalemate I believe.

Whilst I relish the opportunity to get into these verbal stoushes with you Simo, surely it's time to put this to bed now. Up to you though, I'm not arsed either way...

by the way, the lie down was enjoyable, but the tea was sh*te as I couldn't get any of those Lipton 'yellow'...the black tea bags just don't cut the mustard with me.

Ok then. If you wish for a response to your post just say the word, otherwise bed it is.

p.s. the tea was meant to be green tea, no point having caffeine if you are trying to lie down.
