Never been an Ingliss fan but whatever happens here, he's probably shot himself in the foot and will never captain our country again.

We all make mistakes and its a harsh penalty to pay but he's not a child or a youngster and should have known better.

A bit like fat Sam managing the England football team for one game and getting caught in a sting and getting sacked.
They'll both rue their decisions for the rest of their lives.

Needs to lose the captaincy at the very least.

If not dropped altogether.

Being a kangaroo is the highest individual honour in the game and this hardly reflects the required standards, especially for a captain.

He was .085 at Lithgow, God knows what he was at Dubbo when he started driving, on a double demerits weekend. What the hell was he thinking? I've known a few blokes who stupidly risked driving home from their local, but who goes out drinking before a five hour drive?

Deserves to lose the captaincy on stupidity alone.
Driving time from Dubbo to Lithgow is supposed 2 hours 55 minutes, but would have been a bit less, if he was speeding all the way. After they picked him up, it probably would have been at least another 20 minutes until they put him on the breathalyzer at the police station.

So the question is, what would have Inglis's blood alcohol level have been before he left?

Mid range drink driving whilst speeding on a night out.
Low range drink driving the day after a big night out with alcohol still in the system.
A bit different wouldn't you say?
Inglis was not caught on a night out, it was the day after..albeit after lunch and still mid range. Downed a few I say

Wot da fook ! Greg Inglis , na he a queaky clean dude he is . :scream:

Now they're talking about giving him back the captaincy next year.
What an insult to Cordiner and any other possible candidate.

"Its ok Greggie, we'll take it off you now till it all blows over and we'll give it back to next year as a belated Xmas present."

Mate that was always on the cards - " punish the man severely , make an example of him we will teach him and all other Kangaroo captaincy candidates that the role is one not to be taken lightly , but cherished ! " . By the way Greg , just sit out 2 games and it will be yours again - wink , wink say no more .

GI did the wrong thing, his punishment has been dealt out, do the penalty, reform your ways and he should be able to regain the captaincy
It is about rehabilitation and not about damnation.
If he doesn’t learn from it then never pick him again.
RL is full of players who have made moral mistakes and that goes from the best to the worst
Lots of players still pulling on jerseys after domestic violence issues.

So do you think Steve Smith should take back the captaincy when he returns to play for Australia?

I do.

I think speeding, while drink driving was much worse than knowing about a ball being rubbed with a bit of sandpaper.
