Interesting to see what his reaction would've been had it gone over.

Probably the same, I got the feeling he knew they weren't gonna score anyway so just took it out of frustration, you can't be behind by two for that long and not know it.

The fact mustn't be overlooked that it was a pathetic effort, especially considering that he had no pressure on him and there was a pretty good reason why he didn't have any pressure on him.

There are 2 options here

1. He had money on the Dragons to win or an exotic bet, or
2. He gave up and robbed his team an opportunity to win the game

In either case it is an absolutely disgusting look for the teams captain to carry on this way and he needs to be disciplined heavily.

Some-where near the money ol'mate, he might've thought he'd get another shot if that one went over. Souths should've had a shot at the end of every set they were near 20 minutes before

i do find the whole 'he got annoyed and threw the game' comment a bit laughable..

the bloke loves a big moment, and here he is, last play of the game, one of the team's heroes is in hospital (so chance to win the game for sammy) and all he has to do is put up a hell of a bomb, as the dragons backs were letting them bounce..

souths would have had a pretty good chance of scoring off a kick..

makes more sense that he'd have a brain snap rather than throw the whole game away, let down his team mates, his employer, his fans, the sponsors etc...

I find the "he didn't know the score" theory as laughable.
not once in the last 10 times down that end did they even attempt a field goal.
Either did the Dragons in their 20 or whatever sets they had at Souths end.
then again ...maybe he is just a dumb arse who is a bloody good footy player.

For once Muzby is right. Of course he didn't know. And in terms of letting off frustration kicking a huge bomb is more satisfying than kicking a field goal. He simply thought it was 6-6.

There are scoreboards everywhere to keep an eye on who is leading.

4 Corners to smell a fish in 3-2-1...
