Seeing as Gould is getting a run I thought I'd add that another great football mind, that of one P. Vautin, said yesterday that theres no way of us getting into the 8 & we have been on a constant downhill slide since 2001. Of course Manly was mentioned around the #5 mark... :roll:

Gould is worse than Daley's selections. He predicted Penrith to finish 15th, last season, then look what happened....they came first. Could you imagine if Parramatta was to end up first. I'll keep the article and show it to Gould at the end of the season. And then show last year's one of when he predicted Penrith to come last.

One thing on Anderson's selection of 11th, he did say that Hindy and Lyon are potentially the two best players in the WORLD and he wasn't specifically talking about positions either. I think his major concern is that there are a lot of new players, which is what Gould is talking about but look at Penrith's starting 13 from 2003 compare to 2002 and the same can be said.

chris anderson also claimed that the sharks would struggle as they had a reliance on their halfback and props. wasn't this the same man who claimed you only needed a halfback and frontrower to be successful??

i also recall vautin predicting manly to be undefeated last year.

To stick with the same bunch of players that were bundled out first go in 2002 and finishied in the bottom half of the table last year doesn't seem too smart so what the hell do they expect?
I think Smith has accuratly pointed out the areas we were difficient in and done all he could to upgrade them.
