I'm pleased someone is putting Hayne back in his place TBH. He is a bloody good player of course but he is NOT the only player on this team. I'm a little over his hissy fits.

This is from Slothfields Blog today:
G’day Phil,
I am a Parra supporter & would like to know if you have any inside knowledge on whether Parra will be extending Eric Grothe’s contract. I think he is playing as well as any winger & seems to go a bit unnoticed. I think he has really picked up his act since Ando’s arrival as coach. I hope they keep him for another 2yrs, at least.

I just rang and checked it out with Paul Osborne for you. The club has told Eric that if he wants to stay, he’ll have to take a paycut. I’m told he’s willing to drop some money to stay. They are also trying to keep Feleti and Inu. Theyn will lose Nathan Cayless’ salary at the end of the season but they’ve still got to find more room in the cap from somewhere. Parra’s biggest problem goes back to their sensational charge to the grand final last year and how it bumped up the value of every player in the team.

Losing Guru a second time will be very disappointing... just like losing P J Marsh and Mckinnion the second time round.

Why on earth would Ozzie tell that work Rothfield about contract negotiations with Eric?

Seeing as Rothfield is the dodgy character in this situation, ill choose the think that Sloth made that crap up.

Guru and Jarryd seem to have a love/hate relationship this year. Has anyone else noticed that hey often have a go at each other often down in the back right hand corner ?

Also this week the body language between them after Guru scored from the Hayne cut out pass was strange to say the least.
Yeah, it's worrying. I think Jarryd's positional play in defence leaves a lot to be desired. Wouldn't be surprised if Guru thinks so too.

And to me Hayne sometimes seems to isolate himself when there are team congratulations to be shared or given (even to him). I really hope he hasn't been reading his own press...

It seems like Eric is taking pride in his defencive work, Hayne seems to be damaging that, this could turn out well depending on how Hayne reacts to it. Hopefully they can have a beer after matches still and get along.

Also, the more people that have to take pay cuts to stay, the more guys that might be a bit dirty on Hayne for knowing that's where the money, especially if Hayne has the attitude lately of being above the less glamorous hard work, like defensive positioning.

Eric had some nice things to say about Jarryd in the press after Sunday's game (articles posted on this site).

I think some of you guys are jumping at shadows and reading into things a little.

I don't believe that Eric's the type of person that would hold a grudge over money.

Both he and Hayne offered to take a cut for Kinga.

I personally find it annoying that Hayne got so much attention for the 20 minutes where he was actually switched on, but I also doubt the Guru would care too much about that sort of stuff either.
