Would you Jets fans (and any Bears fans that may be wandering thru) be prepared to sacrifice your traditional home grounds, and have your team back in first grade but playing out of Telstra?

Its a touchy subject with WestsTigers fans, Im not that big a fan of Telstra personally but understsand the financial benefits that go with it.

The grounds are a big part but the way i see it ....not much point having a ground if only juniors are playing there.

You may think Im a sell out, the team I now support in the NRL IS cut from the same cloth as my former club, but I did get to see my team win in the top grade yesterday, and Im grateful for that.

Newtown and Henson go hand in hand and the NRL means very little to me personally. As long as I get to see our jersey run around then I am happy. The NSWRL is the most traditional competition with traditional teams and I do not enjoy the sterile environment at Telstra or even Aussie. I saw Newtown play 2 games this weekend and that is it.
My theory is when an NRL player is rewarded for his performance then he is given a rep jersey in the SOO which is the NSWRL and therefore we play at the highest level. :D :D

The NRL has been around for 5 minutes given the history of the game and there is an old saying that "money does not make the man" which is still true.

My way of thinking is that I support the team, not the competion, ie the NRL.
I was a Balmain supporter and couldn't bring myself to support the Wastes Tigers as it felt like a bastardisation of that great club that WAS Balmain. I was attracted to the fact that the Newtown club have stood firm and not merged/moved/changed their jersey etc for the past 97 odd years, excuding the couple of games they played at Orana Park in '83.
So no, I don't wish the Jets to become an NRL team as they'd have to sell their soul to do that and is it really worth it, just to seem them run around an athletics ground against a super league, salary cap cheating club?

Even though Balmain still have a presence (disputed no since they are part of the BRET) they still sold out. This means they adopted Superleague qualities.
