Hair booted from ICC panel

Oh I see, so now accusing a side of ball tampering or no-balling a chucker is about "respecting people's cultures".

Hmmmm - and here I thought we were playing sport.

Oh well, at least this Richard Boock noted that Hair went because he caused major unrest. Better that we have no sign of unrest than teams actually playing by the laws of the game.

Murali's not a chucker apparently

Obviously you don't get it - I've said all along that Hair made his position untenable, all on his own. I have no problem with an umpire calling a game as he sees it - but when he continually comes acorss as a pompous, pig-headed etc etc etc merkin, and offends a large proportion of the world's cricketing population by tretaing them very poorly - then he has to go. We no longer live in a world of school masterish bullying behaviour...

And would you care to answer the question I posed - if your position is so right and just why did RSA, Zimbabwe and the Windies all vote the way they did, and why does much of the NZ cricket faction believe we voted the wrong way????????

Way you go El D, you boycott any games involving sub-continent teams - while you're at it you'd best boycott RSA, Windies and Zimbabwe games as they too voted to rid the game of Hair - have fun..

who is this Conn guy? what a dead-set idiot, that's the most embarrassing piece of journalism I've seen in a long time.

Actually, the most embarrassing moment of this fiasco is people who think like you. You actually think this is good for cricket? Please. What has been glossed over is another outcome of the meeting which is also no good for the cricket world: Ata-ur-Rehman, found guilty of match fixing, has had his lifetime ban lifted. India are now starting to agitate for Azzhuradin to have his ban lifted also, and they'll get it because the Asian Bloc has the power. And what a farce that will be. They will be sending the message that it's ok to fix matches, as long as you're Asian you won't be banned.

This is not good for cricket, not at all. Anything Asia doesn't like is out. Anything at all. If Hair is to be sacked by a panel with nothing to do with umpiring, then Doctrove should have been sacked also. Both made the decisions, both should be accountable, if indeed there is anything to be accountable for.

It's morons like you JJ that validate the petty, small-minded and ignorant attitudes of the ICC, which is no more than a basket-case front for the BCCI.

aren't you the guy that thinks Nathan Hindmarsh is an over-rated hack, and Allan Tongue is the best lock in the game of league... please, I'm supposed to take what you say seriously?

While I agree on Rehmann, several Australians (Lillee, Marsh, M Waugh and Warne) have all gotten away scott-free with dubious dealings with book-makes, so get over yourself.

and Skeepe (and cheerleader El D) criticising the ICC as being petty, small minded, and ignorant is just about the funniest thing I've ever read (full-stop).

You obviously have no insight into what petty and small minded behaviour might look like, nor any grasp of irony.

Sorry JJ but Skeepe is on the money.

I still can't believe you think Hair was in the wrong in no-balling Murali.

Skeepe's a f**king idiot, and you know it.

Whether or not Murali chucks (now, or under the rules then) is not relevant.

Hair was wrong then, because

1. He ignored an ICC directive that called for umpires to report those with suspect actions to be tested and evaluated.
2. He was at the f**king bowler's end anyway.

It's this gung-ho bullsh*t behaviour that has cost him his job - not whether he adhered to the rules as he read them, that he treated people and directives with contempt. Disturbingly, the people he seemed to treated with most contempt were of Asian extraction.

Hair was proven to be correct so the subbies had the rules changed so he could contine to 'bowl'

but Inzy proves he's above all this :D

That's easy for the prolific rules-breaker to say now that he's got his way isn't it?

Anyway, it's clear that you're pleased with the balance of power resting entirely with the Asian Bloc. Will you feel the same way when it starts to impact on Australia and NZ cricket directly?

and again, I realise Maths is not a strong point for you, and neither is geography apparently

But the "asian bloc" is not enough for a majority...

India and Pakisatn are hardly friends

the West Indies, South Africa and Zimbabwe are not part of Asia

English is though so I'll spell it out for you.

There are 10 countries of which four make up the Asian Bloc.

Windies rely heavily on the backing of India etc. such as their WC bid. That's five.

Sth Africa and Zimbabwe as nations lacking any clout, know what's good for them and do the same. That's seven.

It leaves only England and Australia to think for themselves and NZ who have no idea what to do so they just do back Australia, given that they're basic reason for existing is to aspire to be Australian anyway.

Let's face it JJ, 99 percent of your arguments are anti-Australian which can be simply but down to what in other areas of life is known as "little man syndrome".

Personally, I like my neighbours in NZ and openly admit I enjoy holidaying there - but maybe that's because I'm not racked by an inferiority complex.
