If we lose, it won't be because of the referee. It'll be because we have an ordinary squad.

If we actually win the game, maybe I'll change my tune. If we just get through on a coin flip again, we're going to get slaughtered by Sydney or Melbourne.

Both teams have had so many chances and Wellington should have just won the game

Elrich f**king up a 1 on 1 in the first half... FUUUUUUUUU-

game over, story of the season tbh. Lots of chances, no-one good enough to convert.

3-1 now. Some Newcastle players need to have a good, long look at themselves. Our defence on the last two Phoenix goals was terrible. Pavlovic is a f**king waste of space. Why is there so much hype around Kantarovski? Has he ever done anything noteworthy?

Matt Thompson looked good until he was hooked. Petrovski had a dig, but he's old. Song tried and then got hooked. Kennedy was acceptable.

The season's over. Con, reach into your pockets with those greasy hooves and pull out some money. Buy some football players to replace the likes of Vignaroli, Griffiths, Thompson, and Song. Then, buy some footballers to replace pretenders like Topor-Stanley, Kennedy, Petrovski, Haliti, Rooney, and Pavlovic.

Seriously, there are five decent players in our squad for next year: Milicevic, Wheelhouse, Young, Abbas, and Elrich. Maybe Kantarovski and Patafta if they can cease being myths and start being professional footballers.

The rest are tripe.

Why is there so much hype around Kantarovski?

Not sure about hype but he had a pretty good game today.

Kennedy fails again

I'm sure you're just fishing for JD but he played well too. He was asked to do far too much today because of lazy defenders. You know you're in trouble when your Goalkeeper is forced to move out of the goals and jockey the opposition team's striker because there are no defenders in sight. The first and second goal were great shots, the third goal the moronic defenders were playing for offside when one of our defenders was practically on the goal line

Once again, they failed to convert. They need a decent striker.

Not sure about hype but he had a pretty good game today.

He won Young Player of the Month in December, and I can't for the life of me remember seeing him do anything of note in that time. He's a bigger myth than Patafta.

I'm sure you're just fishing for JD but he played well as well. Second goal was unstoppable, third goal the moronic defenders were playing for offside when one of our defenders was practically on the goal line

Yeah, Kennedy did his best today. The goals were all the result of shoddy defence.

Once again, they failed to convert. They need a decent striker.

Two decent strikers. More mid-fielders to partner Wheelhouse. Some defenders. A keeper who has good games more than twice a year.

Ifill did well with his goal toward the end but f**k me he was ordinary most of the game, some poor options.

As has been mentioned, the game summed up our season. Near enough, but not quite good enough. We need someone who is going to score goals, because we relied on Thompson for the latter half of the year far too much and everyone else has NFI what to do when in goal-scoring positions.

Not too sure where our goals will come from next year and unless Con actually parts with his money, another wooden spoon may not be out of the equation. All in all, I thought 3-1 wasn't a fair indication of the game, but we weren't good enough.
