He looked dangerous throughout, but damn his finishing was torrid.

I think we deserved to lose by two. Wellington were all over us.

Btw was Thompson injured or just hooked? I was very surprised when he came off considering the bench options lol.

I thought we played negative right from the start, playing not to lose and to get the big play through long balls on the counter attack.

I don't think we stringed together 3 passes in a row in the whole game.

I REALLY hate the way we defend, there isn't enough aggression or the attitude to get the ball off, it's keep backing off til the attacker runs into you or around you.

Rooney was the worst of the lot. Kennedy was once again fairly good IMO.

I'd love to see Wellington go on and win the whole thing, just to see the reaction of the AFC when the FFA tries to nominate them for the Champions League.

Ifill did well with his goal toward the end but f**k me he was ordinary most of the game, some poor options.

Poor options like set up the first goal with a beautiful ball across the face of goal? If he'd controlled one of his touches a little better you'd be jizzing across the screen about how great he is. He was ordinary by way of results perhaps, but he's half a post from another goal, half a touch too heavy on another, he could have conceivably ended up with 3 goals out there plus a goal assist.

The 'Nix were caught out a few times with through balls as their defensive line was slightly too high and the fullbacks were slightly too attacking leaving the centre halves exposed to a quick counter. Nonetheless, I thought they were all over Newcastle, I think the balls into the penalty area finishes up something like 60-15 to Wellington.

I actually though Kantarovski wasn't too bad. Was reading Ifill quite well and defending him well for a lot of the game. Inevitably though Ifill's sheer class ends up shining through if you're off for half a second. It was only when Daniel came on that Newcastle's defence got owned but in fairness they were pushing numbers forward by that stage.

Seriously, there are five decent players in our squad for next year: Milicevic, Wheelhouse, Young, Abbas, and Elrich. Maybe Kantarovski and Patafta if they can cease being myths and start being professional footballers.

The rest are tripe.

Milicevic won't be with us

Well sh*t, we basically need to recruit eight starters and a bench if we want to be remotely competitive.
