It didn't border on cheating mate, it was straight up cheating of epic proportions. Can't wait till Payne goes across to the Ring of Fire. This guy is Maradona, just without the ability.

go and have a cry.

Sydney had a tough call against them the previous week when McFlynn got wacked in the face, pulled up for handball and melbourne score from the free and go through.

didnt see any sydney fans come on here having a sook about it.....

also, the decision and subsequent goal sydney copped had a much bigger influence on the match. It gave sydney 2 or 3 minutes to score twice.

You guys had 60 minutes to draw that back, instead, you had rings run around you.

Go and have a tug.

Hand ball. Bloke's a cheat.

I couldn't care less what Scum FC fans did or didn't do in the previous game, or a game 36 years ago. This is about what happened on that night in a sudden death match.

absolute rubbish mate...

i was hoping like everyone else the Nix would win... but they were 2nd best for 3/4's of the game.

the better side won on the night.

as for the bloke being a cheat... thats even more rubbish... its the old adage... play to the whistle...

as far as im concerned if the Ref didnt see it then it didnt happen.

if Ifill scores a goal when he's offside would you call him a cheat too?

hardly... you would complain about the ref but that would be it... its no different in this case.

it happens in all sports... i saw it in the cricket the same night... the black caps jumped up and appealed for a ponting nick when it was obvious it came off his helmet... but i didnt see much people calling bond a cheat.

just gotta get over it... and celebrate what was a great season by the nix...

OK.

What happened on the night?

You got a dud call a tick under half an hour into the match.

That left you with 60 minutes to get an equaliser and go on and win.

Yes, 60 minutes. Plenty of time if you were good enough.

Instead, you folded and had another 2 put past you and were played off the park.

Maybe you could actually acknowledge that the better side won rather than carry on like you've got a severe case of small island syndrome.

Comparisons to Thiery Henry? Pft, the Henry incident came deep into the match. Ireland never had a chance to pull it back. Your mob had ample time and couldnt cut it.

Big ups to Shiznit

He didn't push him. They were shoulder-to-shoulder and Payne gave him a little nudge. Which is legal.

They looked remarkably similar to me. Then again, players do go down easy sometimes.

I agree with you on the second goal. Sadly handballs are rarely picked up in the A-League. Last week Melbourne committed two in the box and it was of course, missed.

I can understand why they missed it. The ref was blindsided and the asst ref was on the other side of the field. It was only the tv replays which showed what a terrible decision it was. Byu actually used the same "tactic" earlier in the game, which I thought was worse because the asst ref was standing just a few feet away from him.

Anyway, the real stuff has started now so time to move on.
