I support both, so I don't really care, but the Jets can't be too much of a joke (with the exception of this year) because they've won a comp more recently than the Knights have ...

Although the wooden spoon count is 1-1
The Jets also have the disctinction of being the only (or one of very few) teams to go from first to dead last in the space of 12 months, and have lost all credibility as a professional sporting organisation in the process. I couldn't care less that the Jets have won a title more recently than the Knights, at least the Knights aren't seen as a complete and utter joke on the Australian sporting landscape

Nothing like kicking a team when they're down eh? ;-)

Where was all this hatred last year when they were doing well for Newcastle? It was all quiet on the western front. I suppose it's much easier to say how much of a joke any team is when they really are struggling ...

They'd be much better off without Con, but that's a totally different story.

What, by telling the truth? Not my fault you're too blind and stupid to see what a joke they've become

Last year wasn't a problem. They had a good, stable squad of players dedicated to the team. Also, Con hadn't gone completely insane. As soon as the championship was won, Con's stubbornness led to the departure of 3 of the Jets best players, who were subsequently replaced by utter tripe. A striker who can't score a goal...wtf? The club then continued to release their better players, and instead of replacing them with players of equal quality have been relying on the youth squad (including two players to hold the "youngest A-League player ever" title). The recruitment and retention policies of the club really have to be questioned...why is it that every other club in the A-League is able to attract players from overseas of decent quality, while the Jets bomb out every single time?

They'd be much better off without Con, but that's a totally different story.
Actually it IS the story

Sadly, that won't happen Matt. Hopefully Con realises that we need to sign players in the next fortnight so they have time to adjust to our playing style. We can't sign players a week before the ACL and then expect miracles, but I can just see that happening

the way they are going some of the W-League Jets players should keep in training as they will be needed for the ACL qualifiers.

Actually, Con's always been insane, but the competitiveness of the team has prevented his "insaneness" from being brought to the surface ...
