We have dozens of pages about the performance of a winger and a centre last Friday.
There has been deafening silence about the performance of the halfback.
Some of the kicking options led almost directly to tries. His skills under pressure broke down (has any other first grade player thrown so many passes along the ground to nobody, had so many kicks charged down or out on the full?)
Is he running the ball? Making inroads with ball in hand?
Creating space for players outside? Organising the forwards? Offering fifth tackle options? Controlling field position and possession?
IMO we are missing an enormous amount in this position.
Does anyone styrongly disagree, or can convince me otherwise?
I know Finch has a good attacking high kicking game. And with Inu Hayne and Reddy all capable of leaping, this could be an asset. But the other aspects of his game?
