Half the season gone.....

- We are 6th (well unless Canberra beat Warriors by 38 ).
- We are ahead of predicted top 8 teams such as Newcastle, St. George, Canberra, Parramatta and even Cowboys.
- Team is showing fighting qualitys. In years gone past we would of caved in and got smashed by 50.

If the next half of the season is as good I will be happy :)

Exactly. We are already one win behind our entire tally for last season.Considering the horrid run with injuries weve had im pretty happy with where we're at.

Im happy with our form for most of the year, but when we play the top sides we are making bloody stupid errors.Maybe Im not noticing them against the weaker clubs(as you can get away with it)but you cant keep kicking the ball 20 metres, putting no pressure on the 5th tackle and dropping the ball on the first tackle against the big guns.

We looked second rate last night.

So far Id give us a 7 out of ten for the year.Still a lot of improvement left IMHO.If you haad said to me 6 and 6 at the start of the year I would have taken it.

Cheers.

How many people will be throwing jerseys onto the field ?

it just goes to show that we are passionate supporeters that don't don't accept mediocrity for any longer than a season or two, where as you guys are just used to following mediocre teams and can easily accept losses.

Having said that, you'll still finish above us this year and we will still battle for the spoon despite our win last night.

Isnt a supporter suppose to stick with the team through good and BAD ? If these people were as passionate as you say they wouldnt be throwing there jerseys back onto the field and giving up on the team. It's not about following mediocre teams, its about respect. Will these people come back now that Parra beat the Knights ?

This has been a very good season for us but it is one year too early. Next year we will be a real force. As for this year it has shown us what a good coahc Sheens is, and what ptential the club has. There is too many good juniors in the club for success to be far away.

cheers

Two options for the 2nd half of the season IMO :

Option 1 : through in all the junior players like Fulton, Collis, Harrison, Lima, De Gois etc
Let them gain some experience for 2005.
Would probably rule out any chance of a Top 8 finish

Option 2 : stick with the same players and throw in a junior every now n then.
Would have some sort of chance of a Top 8 finish.

I owuld go with option 2 but geez it would be good fun to wtach fulton, harrison, halatau, collis and farah in first grade. all fove of these guys are as good as Marshall yet we havent felt the need to rush their development. Why?

Because in their positions we already have enough players, but Marshall is a half and we havent had too many of those in recent years. Add Reynolds injury in and you can see why we blooded Marshall so early.

I reckon if that option was taken,we would make the top 8 and the experience these young players would gain would be invaluable for next year!

I would say Marshall is on one level bar some aspects of his game.
Then you have Fulton Hatatau and Farah on another.
Then Harrison on another.....all decreasing levels.
Cant comment on Collis, aint seen enuff.
IMO of course.

why?

Will we be buying a classy centre, and a ball playing backrower ?

tracie - we have ball-playing back-rowers coming out our a*se - with Graham - Sattler - O'Neill etc!!!

What we need is a tackle-busting back-rower in the Tallis mould to complement them!!
