Half Time Talks

I don't know what is being said, but three weeks in a row we've come out of the sheds and fallen to pieces for the first 10-15 minutes of the second half.
Handling errors, giving away penalties, falling off tackles, you name it.

Our second half starts have been abysmal.
What gives?

I'm starting to feel the benchies are just not pulling their weight.
Royce, brain-fart aside, did some damage.
Kaufusi probably had his best showing in Sharks colours, but is it enough?
The other two? Did they even play?

And pharque this Dale to prop business. 13 or bench for me.

The poor starts and lack of discipline are down to mindset. It was clear after last year's finals that this squad lacked ruthlessness to win in the big game against the big teams. This is the main area they need to develop to go to the next level

The Raiders game was a good illustration of mindset. Playing a less talented team with key outs. The Sharks lost on discipline and desire. They were far more skillful but still lost. The poor goal line defence is discipline, communication and desire. They are struggling to defend errors.

The bench use doesn't make sense from the amateur fan perspective. Toby is playing too many minutes in his first stint. Number 17 barely sees any time. A fresh Williams is better than tired Toby.

It's a long season, so will be interesting to see how the coach addresses it.

It’s been Fitz biggest problem as coach.
We haven’t got our starting / bench playing combo correct or his bench rotation right since rd1 last year

The ranga is a bog standard bench middle who looked like Artie Beetson against the Sharks. Canberra know they bully the Sharks and overpower them everytime. Souths did the same thing as did Easts last season. Sharks forwards need to lift the physicality and intensity.
Yeah we are 1 really decent forward away from being a real challenger tbh. I was disappointed we didn't get one

Frenzy.

I doubt it's the halftime talk that's a worry

It's a lack of leadership. There's big holes in the 2022 leadership structure. No Feefs, no Tolman, no Wado for a month and no Nicho so far.

I reckon Dale isn't a captain's quoit. The backs don't have a standout leader and the forwards have bit part leaders IMO

sort of showed when Hunt went to the bin.. no captain there next to him pleading our case. I know he was going to the bin regardless, but look at the difference with Tedesco pleading the young roosters props case the other night.
