this is shaping up as one of the worst seasons in a while.

all the top teams have gone missing, star players out injured and generally a mediocry standard of play.

roosters----on the slide
dogs-----cant even beat souths, fairdinkum.
newcastle----joke club
penrith-----all grog monsters
dragons----perenial under achievers
souths-----give em the arse
cronulla----average team at best
storm-----what's the point?
warriors-----good for a larf
raiders----their star is a 35 year old!!!
west-----deep in the bogan belt
broncos----too many queenslanders
cowboys----too many queenslanders
eels-----premiership contenders
manly-----fairdinkum, if this mediocre team is a front runner then we may as well pull down the shutters and call it quits now!!!

LOL!! Youve dropped Easts from the 8, but somehow the Bulldogs have scraped in needing to win the next 9 from 13. LOL.

Brisbane and Cowboys are currently in a class of their own and should be the grand finalists.

Bulldogs at full strength is their only serious challenger.

Through my blue and gold glasses:

1. Eels (Broncos and Eels to go into their Round 26 clash at Parra on even points, the winner takes the minor premiership)
2. Broncos
3. Cowboys
4. Manly
5. St George Illawarra
6. Sharks
7. Melbourne
8. Roosters

Bulldogs can sneak in, but it will all depend on how long SBW is out, and how they do without him.

More so on Mason and O'Meley I think. With go forward there, the rest will fix itself.

Maitua, Tonga, Myles and SBW for the extra impact

Walker Smith, for Manly to finish eight (Cut-off: 28 points) that would mean we would win just three more games.

We still have to play the Knights twice, Bunnies once, and Tigers once, plus Fortress Brookvale games. We will finish higher than eigth.

Thats the assumption that the cut off point is 28

to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if this year it's as high as 30

in saying that I can't see Manly finishing lower then 6th

Too hard to pick exact positions at the end of the regular season but here are my thoughts anyway.

Broncos - Unstoppable since the Melbourne mishap. Maintain top spot if they can ride out the origin series okay.
Sea Eagles - Have been tipped to faulter for weeks now. Perhaps they are the real deal. Harder run home than the first end of the comp but will hover around 4th.
Cowboys - Razzle dazzle! Will make it QLD 1 and 2. Eels was a wake up.
Eels - Someone found the on switch and it doesn't look like turning off. Will be pushing for a top four finish.
Sharks - Have dropped off lately. Will still expect to finish top 8 but mental toughness will decide where. They'll want to address this hiccup though with so many teams trying to cram themselves into the 8.
Storm - Too much strike power to miss the 8, too inconsistent to make the top 4.
Raiders - When's Smithy back? Will struggle to stay in the top 8 without Smith. May depend on whether the Dogs or the Warriors hit some form.
Roosters - Will look to climb up the ladder and claim the 'moral' premiership after adding 14 points to their tally lost due to referees.
Dragons - Should be top 4, probably hit 5th or 6th. Groundhog Day to be re-released starring Brownie, Barrett and friends.
Warriors - Have been improving but have just lost Price. If any permutation of 17 players could stay consistent and away from the judiciary the could easily make the 8.
Tigers - Have struggled after a fine start to the season. Not sure if they can arrest this slump in time to make the 8.
Bulldogs - Desperately need Mason, O'Meley and SBW back. Without them they will struggle. If the do make the 8 with the afore mentioned players fit they could win it.
Panthers - Have forgotten how to finish a game. This season is a write off. Start thinking about the next season.
Rabbitohs - If ever there was a team that didn't need injuries is Souths. Their lack of depth has shown. A fully fit team would still not make the 8.
Knights - Joey's back and people are hoping that they aren't the first to be beaten by the Knights. But this season is now all about beating Souths for second last spot.

It's a closer comp this year, if that trend continues the cut off will be lower.

yeah but there are also teams like the Knights, Souths and Panthers not winning (m)any games. So those points need to go somewhere.

I think the Bunnies can snare a couple more (e.g. this weekend,) the Panthers will get it together to some degree and the Knights will win a couple of games, it might actually be tighter on the run home, especially with players playing for contracts.

The Roosters can't afford to drop that many either.
