Halfback Spot: Next Persons turn...

So you don't rate Tim Smith as a halfback but Robsons kicking game only needs some "fine tuning" Ok......

Robson has only played eight first grade games. Only three this year. In those three he has put up some ordinary kicks and has also done some damn good kicks resulting in tries or near tries. And, no - I don`t rate Smith as a half-back.

One of the more bizarre opinions. Nothing personal against Robbo, he's never claimed to be a star...but I've seen better kicking games in Group 8 C grade...let alone the A's

Yes and there's a reason why he's only played 8 first grade games and was dropped for Kris Keating after only 1 or 2 this year.

Oh, well. I still think, even on his performance tonight, he beats most of Brett Finch`s games. And I stated that I wouldn`t give him more than two more games. I just think you`ll find that in his games this year he`s done some good things. I`m not the only one who thinks so - Warren Ryan was impressed with his first game for us. He`s obviously not going to be our long-term option; I don`t expect him to hold down a first grade spot any real length of time either. I just think that he`s good enough to keep his spot for another week at least, while we settle a few other positional questions.

Cmon seriously the guy is terrible, terrible, terrible.

If you can't see that then you must be having a lend.

I wonder if the heavy and heavy footing was part of the reason Mortimer was held back tonight? Keep him out of the fray for this one.

After training with the firsts all week, surely he'll play next weekend against the sharks at Parra?

Stagger,

I'm liking your idea of MK to halfback. I thought we looked most dangerous tonight when MK and Kinga were both out there at the same time.

Why compare him to Finchy? Finch isnt here, its not like DA can drop Robson for Finchy now. We get it, you dont rate Finchy, move on.

QUOTE=Parra;5663137]Robson wasn't the joke you are making him out to be.

He deserves to keep his spot.

I think he was diabolical tonight. He didnt do anything well that stands out. he only put up one good bomb tonight that was still taken on the full by Merrit.

I would allow him to have one more game but Mortimer would be on the bench and once things have quietend down after the first 20 or so minutes, bring Mortimer on when he is going to be run at as hard as he would if he was starting.

Yeah he was ordinary, however he might be retained but not at halfback, at 5/8. We might be missing Inu with suspension and Hayne will be out through Origin commitments which will probably force Reddy back the centres and Burt back to fullback. Mortimer will certainly be starting at halfback.

Needs to improve his kicking game, massively.

I agree, he has shown nothing at all to indicate he is capable of playing to NRL standard.

i thought tuatai played well tonight(for the guy who dropped him out of the backline)
robson although he tried hard and defended pretty well he's just not 1st grade standard not even really close i would plaobably go with MK at half and kingston at hooker leave reddy where he was hayne pretty much chimed in nicley at 5/8 in attack mortimer on the bench

1 hayne
2 grothe
3 tautai
4 inu
5 burt
6 reddy
7 m.keating

i think this would be our best backline with the injuries to mateo and kk

look, Robson is a below average firstgrader who's getting paid his worth, the only reason he is there is because we're just struggling for options, i'd say that DA will definitely throw Morts a jersey against a Gallanless sharks next saturday.

I know I brought it up as an idea last week, but I don't know that I'm as a crazy about it as you are...

I'd probably give one of our kids a shot before giving MK a go.
